what i build is essentially a prototype or something that enables an ecosystem to cooperate in a specific way, but it is by far not as lean and efficient as it could be.

of course i tried to minimise the stack as much as possible, but at some point you have to pick your battles i guess.

now once it works and maybe goes through some rounds of refinements, the question is, how to make it work with the least overhead posssible imho

Made a file manager with my dream ux for launching files. First, I think I haven't "double-clicked" on a file in.. since 2004. I use a pen tablet instead of mouse and double-clicking is the worst, so everything is a single click. Next, I've always wanted to just select a bunch of files and write what program to open them in, I don't want to go through a right-click dropdown, just let me type the program name.

It feels real good.
