I think it's finally my turn to #AskFedi, especially my German friends.
There's a very high chance (it's almost certain at this point) that I'll have to move to Germany by the end of the year for work. The time has come for me to start looking for an accommodation, but I don't even know where to start.
The job would be in the whereabouts of Düsseldorf, and I would like to find a medium-small apartment there, possibly not too far from the city center.
Can you give me some pointers please? Any help is greatly appreciated.

we should limit as much as possible the knowledge that businesses have. they don't need to know who your friends or family are, or how many wifi signals are floating around your home, or the dimensions of every room in your home and the materials the furniture is made from, or anything else
I can confirm that Opus 5 is pretty good at writing OpenSCAD. For better or worse, that was one of the last things that I was writing mostly by hand.
I expect I'll still write a bunch of it by hand when the details are easier for me to express in code than plain language, but it has definitely solved some problems that are thorny enough that I would have skipped over them without its help.
@harris did you use some kind of MCP? I imagine if claude can directly "see" the preview it could iterate on its own until the model matches the intention.
@danirabbit Sure i feel embarrassed for asking a lot of questions, as most of software developer's job is asking the right questions and finding the answers, and spending a lot of someone else's time on those questions i need answered, especially those that earn me a paycheck, will cost me relationships, including the ability to procure future answers. LLM agent can be queried about the code without spending precious meatbag time.
@L29Ah I would highly encourage you not to use LLMs here. They are often very wrong and it wastes a lot more time to try to catch their mistakes than it would take to provide good mentorship. I want the people on my team to learn best practices and become better engineers. I learn things all the time from other people! If we cut out human mentorship we can only repeat mistakes

I had to put husband in a wheelchair and push him today at the hospital. For the first time ever. He's a very stoic person. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for him.

I am amazed at how many people don't know about Media Center.

Growing up in East Tennessee, I've always revered Dolly.
That reverence only grew after moving states and to the left. The fact that she was able to love and accept everyone, without losing the average Tennessean was Saint Dolly's first miracle.
Her 2nd miracle might be that playing the Jolene 45 at 33rpm makes it sound like a gay cowboy is pining for his bisexual love.

thanks. i bet it get fixed fairly soon and then i either 1) move or 2) settle back in apathetically until it breaks again. i haven't wanted to bug our admin as he's not around, but i think a couple folks reached out today
