Anyways, I don't see anything wrong with making things more accessible for non-technical people.

I'm more concerned that UX has been captured by corporate interest. The goal isn't to listen to what users want anymore. It's to fulfill whatever stakeholders want to extract from users.

I think for a while now, that I need to start curating my lists such that following more will be reasonable (or else the flood of posts would overwhelm me). But this Mastodon thing should be more amusement than work.

Got to give a talk today at a local community college about the intersection between #infosec and #MentalHealth, and it was an absolute delight. I wasn’t sure how it would be received, but people seemed interested and had a lot of good questions. Hopefully arming some up-and-coming #security folk with tools and awareness.

Look at what Google's AI just did to a Japanese artist...

It permanently banned their entire Google account, simply for uploading their own old manga files to Drive.

The artist's appeal was rejected. An algorithm decided that an artist's work was a violation.

And they didn't just lose Drive. Gmail, YouTube, every service.. gone!

Artists must take care. Never rely solely on the cloud for irreplaceable items like your own copyrighted data. Physical storage is the best approach.

Had a seizure yesterday while checking my TL, and haven't been able to do anything all day due to how exhausting tonic clonic seizures are.
