Thanks to the social.coop admins for all the help in getting us up and running on here at last! As an #introduction, we're a brand-new initiative from social enterprise Libre Digital, we’re going to be utilising multimedia to shed light on issues, spaces, and people from the margins, where insight can be found to help us all choose a different – better – way. We're also working on becoming a #cooperative in our own right. #safety #sustainability #democracy #cooperation #CovidIsNotOver

Hi,

I'm Tristan, teacher by day and photographer the rest of the time.

I usually try to make images very locally and in woodlands.

I also try to vlog those adventures sometimes, but that is still a steep learning curve for me.

I heard about the fediverse on @mattpaynephoto 's podcast with @geoff_eg and wanted to see what it is all about!

Here are a few of my local images!

You should regularly update your introduction post, so that's what I'm doing.

You can call me Bob, and I'm a thirty-something year old living on Awabakal land (Newcastle) in Australia.

I came to the Fediverse because I valued, and wanted, conversation rather than "engagement". Kindness over the rabid hatred and bigotry that existed over on Twitter.

I liked it so much I decided to start an instance. And that's where we are now.

The main thing I talk about here is video games. I'm a fan of pretty much all gaming genres, but some of my favourites from over the years are:

  • Tomb Raider
  • Dragon Age
  • Cities: Skylines
  • Future Cop: LAPD
  • Transport Fever

I game on Linux!

I have a wonderful wife @Jamies, and a lot of animals. We have two cats, Pumpkin & Nutmeg, and three greyhounds, Waffle, Tim Tam & Fairy Floss.

I'm passionately anti-greyhound racing, and have fostered five rescued greyhounds in 2025 as of this post (including Floss who is a foster fail). Greyhounds are a really special breed of dog and they do not deserve the abuse, pain and needless deaths they endure every day as part of the industry.

I'm also passionately anti-bigotry, and I need to get better at verbalising it. I've watched on in shock as the world has taken lurch toward bigotry, racism, homophobia and transphobia. People should have the right to be who they authentically are without fearing being abused, attacked, or eliminated as we're seeing in the USA right now.

I'm also recently diagnosed with ADHD, which was a long time coming and a deep relief for me. I'd always felt as though something wasn't quite right in life, and that just living seemed harder for me than it is for many people around me. Understanding ADHD and how dopamine works in the body suddenly made my life make so much sense.

I'm unashamedly empathic, and will reach out if I see someone struggling. I won't take offence if you tell me to leave you alone.

An #introduction post. New here, if I break a norm, please DM me.

I hate #BigTech and #surveillance and love #FOSS and #sewing. I am a non-violent #anarchist #vegan and politically engaged in #uspol and my local community. I've been a #hacker and #autodidact my entire life. I love learning. Very #queer and #transgender.

I've zero tolerance those who deny the genocide in #Palestine. I am rabidly pro #Ukraine.

I don't talk about my family, friends, work, town, or local organizing. #WeKeepUsSafe

I'm Keiron - I build AI stuff for the Welsh NHS and somehow convinced them to let me automate clinical coding.

Big fan of FOSS everything. When I'm not wrangling NHS data, you'll find me taking photos, making music, cooking, or getting wound up about politics.

Chat to me about terrible NHS IT systems or Welsh place names that are impossible to pronounce.

Hello people! I've been on the Fediverse for couple of years now, so here's my re- #introduction

I'm Ari, better known by my tag APZ and this is my #pinball repair, #arcade and #retrogaming account. I mostly post about playing and repairing pinball machines, but I also work on #retrocomputing with all the classics.

An IT guy by day, I moonlight as a public pinball arcade here in #Finland with my partner @quester. This is purely a hobby of mine and I do this to keep my sanity and to keep pinball alive for the next generations of players. At the moment I own a bit over 30 pinball machines from 70s to 2020s.

A lot of what I do involves #electronics, #CAD for now obsolete parts and #3dprinting and tabletop #cnc to recreate them.

I love to #travel, usually to meet like-minded arcade collectors. I have a strong preference to #repair stuff instead of throwing it away. I'm a #linux user since mid-90s, having been part of #foss movement most of my life.

Migrating over from Urbanists.social. So I suppose it’s a good time for an #introduction post. I’m an architect/sometimes musician living in Charlotte. I’m hoping to refocus my presence to something a little more music related, but I’ll probably continue posting urbanism/hiking/gripes in the mix. I don’t have a ton of music out there for public consumption, but I’ll probably post a couple songs here and there.

Migrating back here from my previous, now-defunct, account @nix@social.stlouist.com. if you know me please boost so I can reconnect with followers.

This is a good time for an #introduction I suppose.

I'm an #educator from #stl that firmly believes in decentralized self organization, such as #anarchism, #socialecology, #solarpunk, or #librarysocialism.

Also I'm a big #urbanism and #foss nerd and #ebike commuter. I'm very involved in the local #freestore and trying to help organize larger #postcapitalist ventures.

Hello, World!

I first learned Unix from NetBSD, moved on to running Linux myself in the 1990's along with FreeBSD and sometimes NetBSD. I'm also a former Solaris and OpenSolaris fan, and was an enthusiastic OS X user for a decade starting with 10.1.

These days my main machines are Fedora and recently NetBSD again. Work is programming microelectronics CAD software on RHEL.

I made this alt with the hope of following more of what's going on amongst BSD users, rather than just running a couple machines by myself.
