let me glaze #Rust for a second because I know you all like it.
whenever I release something I expect a long tail of crash reports. it feels wrong that this is just not happening now...
Bobby is approaching 10K #flathub installs now after 9 months and I've had exactly 1 crash report. a #flatpak permission issue!
I'm a shitty coder honestly and was hesitant to release something without a crash logger like I did in my C# projects, but I may not going to bother in the future. :)

There it is.
Because there is absolutely no way we will ever be silent when profit is over people and the planet.

@greenpeace There's some terrific irony in your sending this kind of message but completely excluding visually impaired people, on a platform that makes it trivially easy to accommodate them.
Image is boldface text on a black background, saying "PEOPLE AND PLANET OVER PROFIT". Each word is on its own line, and each letter in the image has as it's colouring a clip of a photograph from some natural scene, cut to shape so as to form the letter.
@tiotasram @lxo @skjeggtroll @neil surely arguments that apply to copyleft apply equally so to copyright?
I'm not sure what you're getting at. my point was about copyright in general, so it applies to copyleft as well, inasmuchas copyleft is built on copyright

if you watch the new Harry Potter show you tell WB to keep making more Potter stuff
and you show them that directly funding JKR’s transphobia, that she LITERALLY uses to strip trans women’s rights away, is not a dealbreaker
how could i ever feel safe around someone who buys her the boots she uses to step on my neck?
@tillybridges This. 💯
The new Pixelfed webUI composer is magical.
Not only is it more powerful, and easier to use, but also includes a real time preview, and uses some pretty powerful libraries to handle image and video transcoding client side to reduce the load on the server!
Can't wait to ship the demo and hear your feedback, I really think we're on to something 🔥
i know it’s frowned upon on this website, but i’m quite happy
Map of the moment: Mapquest

@MikeElgan I downloaded that app after seeing an article about not changing the lake name on their maps. They also still show the Gulf if Mexico.
So I am switching to that app for driving directions and will see if it works as well as Waze or Google maps.

A friend just sent me this as part of a text message:
"My advice to you would be that you do not ever try to run a campaign on Meta ads. For your own safety and ours. I do not know that you could get through this process without radicalizing to a point of causing newsworthy international violence."
It's heartwarming how well they know me.

@tknarr @PeterLudemann Again, there is no law requiring the following of those agencies (by a firm like Google). And we know that Google diverges from the desired nomenclature for various countries around the world. More to the point, Google is not under any obligation to follow the dictates of a madman who is literally trying to derail the next election, unless Google wants to find themselves in the position of IBM and the Nazis. Which may be Sundar's goal. Mapquest, by the way, has said they are refusing to comply with the name change.
@lauren @PeterLudemann Didn't say there was a law. Said that using the official US source for places in the US, and the official Chinese source for places in China, allows Google to avoid an argument with China over who gets to name places and place borders in areas where China's claims are disputed, because China doesn't want to push for rules that'd also allow people in China to see other countries' idea of it's borders.
I'd like to remind folks that https://bookshop.org exists so you don't have to hit Amazon for books
