@vv @cwebber Isn't the difference a little blurred? There are definitely the spiders that collect training material from the Web, which is used for creating the models. But most chat and coding systems now have RAG and MCP and similar tool infrastructure, so they can do live web searches and API calls at query time, not training time. I haven't seen anyone who talks about the effect from excess traffic on LLMs on Web sites and services tease those two apart.

Just found out that rss2email v3.12.2 uses a User-Agent of "UniversalFeedParser/5.2.1 +https://code.google.com/p/feedparser/" which many, many people block because AI scrapers.

I changed it and see articles from multiple people again…

@mick I had thought of that! I can't remember - is the coop self-hosting that or are we paying for it? Do you have a sense of cost? Most of these orgs or small projects I'm connected to need a small piece of this, small piece of that, and security for their staff and client info. Almost everything promoted to NFPs seems to be overkill and higher cost than they need, and then they need a service tier for every one.
