A Translate Science book club?
We're considering creating a Translate Science book club. The idea would be to choose a popular science book and invite one or more *translators* of the book to join us online for a book club style discussion, including their insights from translating scientific content in the book.
We're thinking books like Lab Girl by Hope Jahren, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, or something by Ed Yong or Mary Roach.
First, what do you, our Translate Science community, think of this idea?
Second, if it appeals to you, what books would you suggest?
Third, maybe some of you translate popular science books! Or maybe you know people who do. If you do, we'd love to hear from you and will keep you in mind if the book club materializes.

agile fits VERY WELL with vibe coding. they're made for each other. just crank stuff out in response to customer desires, don't worry about code quality, all that matters is what the customer's saying in feedback. if they cant see a problem, there is no problem

Hmmmmm, praktisch jede Unibibliothek bietet ja mittlerweile Angebote, instantly weltweit mit den eigenen Forschungsergebnissen gefunden zu werden: mit eigener DOI, per Google Scholar, quasi allen Bibliothekskatalogen weltweit... Diese Möglichkeit auszuschlagen UND zugleich auch etablierte Verlagsmarken - das lässt darauf schließen, dass die Beratung seitens der Unibibliothek in dem Fall nicht optimal verlaufen war.
@Lambo @aeb44225 @claudius @DNB_Aktuelles PDF hochladen und direkt die ersten Exemplare des Lehrbuchs per Klick bestellen schien in dem Fall wohl einfacher, da ist vermutlich niemand niemand auf die Idee gekommen, sich mit irgendeiner behäbigeren Lösung auseinanderzusetzen. Ich bin übrigens Informatik-Doktorand im ersten Jahr und war in 9 Jahren kein einziges Mal in unserer Unibibliothek, diese Instanz ist für mich einfach nicht mehr so präsent. :-)
