@jon @stefanlindbohm same question for Madrid. HS trains come in from Barcelona to Atocha, trains to Vigo go from a station across town...
@quixoticgeek @stefanlindbohm But Cercanias is obviously less separate than RER

So another drama over on #Bluesky. David Roberts aka Volts wrote a thread about how Bluesky has failed to attain the influence of old Twitter and is just a liberal echo chamber. You can imagine the response this received, but the idea that chasing influence is dependent on a hostile corporate network, be it Bluesky or X, is never questioned. It is a complete surrender of agency and responsibility for actually asserting influence.
Another reason why you don't want ads or sponsored results in #AI tools.
"We find that a majority of #LLMs forsake user welfare for company incentives in a multitude of conflict of interest situations, including recommending a sponsored product almost twice as expensive (Grok 4.1 Fast, 83%), surfacing sponsored options to disrupt the purchasing process (GPT 5.1, 94%), and concealing prices in unfavorable comparisons (Qwen 3 Next, 24%)."

In this age of AI slop, you can still do cool shit.

This is #Israel, this is who they are:

If that’s the people any god chose,
I want nothing to do with that god.
AI writing is impossible to avoid, is making everything sound the same, and is driving us crazy.

@heidilifeldman This is why I canvassed my arse off every weekend from August to November for #MikieSherrill. #NewJersey
It would be cool if you could set a flag on account deactivation to indicate whether it's intended to be temporary or permanent.
There are definitely weeks when I would dip out if I could hang up a "Gone fishing" sign so people didn't get weird about it in my absence
@jgarber Thank you for sharing these!

"Convenience" has no proper place in revolutionary thought
Actually a *huge* inconvenience and major pain in the ass if you know what it does, know what actually works, know what doesn't and have to check every stupid word the artificial insanity spat out. And these machines are lying with amazing confidence, citing sources that simply don't exist and whatnot.
Usually you're much better off by discarding it altogether and starting from scratch. It's simply not worth touching that crap.
I certainly don't hate it, and I'm grateful that anyone has bothered spending the significant time and care which has clearly been expended on the project *at all*.
Personally, I am no fan of containers; I'd prefer a bare metal installation, under my own control.
@neil I certainly understand your preference. I've trashed too many of my home lab bare-metal servers when I was learning, so opted for putting everything i installed into a KVM guest for easy clean up if (when) I screwed it up.
Since starting my new job I've been working with containers a lot more and have a better understanding of them and their nuances now.
To the point I might even migrate my current containers out of the guest and onto the host itself.
@leoncowle @lexfri Gets it right in quotes and without quotes works if you pick the Small Web Lens (just to pull from the blog, though it doesn't appear to be active anymore?)
Can still be better though without jumping through any hoops! We are working on it.

If you did something to help others survive, thank you 🙏
If you did something to further the cause of justice, you are a hero ❤️

Hello @nikthechampiongr!
The link shortener used here is our own. It can only shorten URLs on the europa.eu domain.
If you prefer to access this site without a shortened link, here you go: https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_26_1070
@EUCommission @nikthechampiongr but is there a reason why you're using them...? Because mastodon doesn't care (max char length of a post) if it's a short or long link
