It's the weekend, baby
Well put: it's a reminder of the social media we once glimpsed & seems so far away now. But we can build it back. "I never expected to find my news from strangers on a federated social network that half the internet has never heard of. I never expected a lot of things. But there's something quietly beautiful about a place where people share what they know. No brand deals, no engagement metrics, no algorithm nudging you toward rage."

@feld All I can think of is that someone somewhere missed the message that Mexico got rid of daylight savings time last year.
I did report it via their feedback app.
@Edent In your super secret RSS post earlier, you linked to a page about getting an ISSN. That page has a link to the British Library to get one, but it’s dead. The irony, the British Library not maintaining a permanent link structure for its publications.
I suppose Podnews ought to get an ISSN. It’s published by a US company so I suppose I should find out how to get an ISSN there…
@james I think the BL took the form down when they had their Cybersecurity incident. No idea if they'll ever bring it back. I'll update that link, ta!

Having an episode in which "And then they formed a union" is a major plot point
@alcinnz why is it typically the LSBs?
@hipsterelectron Because they represent superhuman precision, beyond what we're consciously controlling.
It's “AI”. The answer is obvious. @croatia https://pubeurope.com/@croatia/116500743381294686
Today in #BeeWare
@freakboy3742 tries to name a thing. Gets sad because name is taken on #PyPI.
Upon closer inspection: _Russell_ owns the package on PyPI.
"But Doctor! I _am_ the Cheeseshop!"
@phildini @freakboy3742 Nice job, past Russell!
@mcnado shouldn't they have plenty of evidence to know which of the guns at the scene fired the shot?
I realize they might not be forthcoming about that, but surely at trial something that obvious will come out?
@dingodog19

That's presuming the shooter survives that long, instead of coming to a sticky end beforehand like LHO and Epstein (AFAWK).
So many posts from strong tender souls in spirals. Offering a gentle one to offset the harsh ones for a moment
@ritchey_de It was actually 5.5 miles (I just looked it up to confirm), and yes, I did walk it sometimes. But it was not a pleasant walk. (Lots of busy roads, many without sidewalks or any other safe place to walk.)
@siracusa
I know it had to do with location.
Where I used to live and work before moving to the U.S., I had a commute of 26 km one way. From mid spring to mid fall I took my bicycle unless it was really nasty weather.
It must be spring, my great pyrenees appears to be budding
@sundogplanets Beautiful Pyr! I feel your pain, though. My Pyr sheds like nobody’s business and he’s an indoor dog…We have him groomed every 4 or 5 weeks and it’s like a white fluffy bomb went off in there. Someone asked about vacuums: Kenmore upright and Miele canister vacuuming doesn’t cut it. We bought a carpet rake to use first (works great!) and *then* vacuum. + brushing at least once/week. FWIW my Golden used to shed just as much
U.S. President Donald Trump said he was not satisfied with Tehran's latest proposal for talks on the Iran war, while Iran's foreign minister said the country was ready for diplomacy if Washington changes its approach. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2026/05/02/world/politics/trump-dissatisfied-iranian-proposal/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #worldnews #politics #iran #middleeast #oil #donaldtrump #israel #us #usmilitary
I am really liking my own personal server. I created it earlier today.
I came up with the domain because I love the Fediverse and the open web.
The Fediverse gets better when more instances pop up on around the world.
I created this instance on the snac2 software because I love the lightweight of the software and the minimalist aesthetic.

@linos@graz.social We got a first version implemented at codeberg.org/Klasse-Methode/...
Reviews by anyone with #activitypub knowledge is highly appreciated 🙏
I'm so excited for this next year on the #Fediverse.
And the more I learn, the more I think #BridgyFed is going to become a foundational part of our network.
I just posted my first messages from #Emissary across Bridgy to my account on BlueSky.
I still have some things to fix (on my end, not theirs) but it worked.
IT WORKED.
NGL, I feel a little like Morpheus right now. And just think of what it will mean for every account set up on #Bandwagon...
@benpate Fully endorse this: "And the more I learn, the more I think #BridgyFed is going to become a foundational part of our network."
