sometimes when i see that we have 100 active users on this instance i don't believe it. like it certainly doesn't feel like there're 100 different peeps actively posting on the local timeline at any given point. then i remember posting followers-only is a thing lmao

Tried to upgrade #postgresql for my oldfriends.live #Mastodon ( @paul ) instance from 13 to 18 and got incompatible_polymorphics errors following @michael guide. Can anyone offer advice?

The error is:

In database: postgres
aggregate: repack.array_accum(anyelement)
In database: mastodon_production
aggregate: repack.array_accum(anyelement)

This domain is automatically reposting random hastags. For example its the hastag #selfhosting
It works on a opt-out basis (by adding the #nobot, and #NoBots tag in your profile, or post)

So look out for this instance if these activities are offending for you.

If you are just a user, you can opt-out by blocking the whole domain.

If your Mastodon server is being very slow today, it may be due to a DDoS attack on one of the biggest hosting providers.

They are aware of the situation and they're taking action against the attack.

This attack doesn't affect servers running on different hosting providers.

EDIT: Okay, looks like the attack is over, servers seem to be getting back to normal. If you are still having problems ask your server admin, if you are an admin ask your hosting provider.
