I also host a couple of podcasts and have even, at various points in the past, done video podcasts.
The hosting bill for my most popular podcast, which consistently out-performs even our most popular video series, is about $20/year.
Partially that's because it's an audio show, and not a video show, but mostly it's because it's a static site hosting a podcast, which is downloaded asynchronously when a new episode is released. I can run the thing on the absolute cheapest server under the sun and, unless we suddenly get thousands of times more popular than we currently are, I don't have to worry about distro bandwidth (and if we do suddenly get thousands of times more popular than we are, it's pretty easy for me to do some cheap hack-y wizardry to make sure our episodes keep downloading *or* to not do that and trust that most clients will just deal with constrained bandwidth or retry.)
When I was hosting video podcasts in a similar setup, I was doing it on shared hosting.
It wasn't as cheap as the above, because I hadn't optimized for cheap I had optimized for easy.
So I had a video podcast going out at 480p, with new episodes once a week (it was episodes of Space Patrol, for the record.)
We had like 40 subscribers total, so I don't know at what point it would start to fall over, but I can't recall ever hitting any resource contention on my exceptionally mediocre shared hosting platform.

If you're interested in test-driving and providing feedback for an interesting web-based open source tool for SBOM generation, please contact me (either by following up here, or, if you prefer privacy, by emailing me (I'll assume you already know or can figure out how to find an email address that reaches me -- that's the extent of my vetting here 😄 )). I will then introduce you to the researchers who built the tool.
I just did the survey/interview/test-drive routine with them. It took one hour; the tool was good, the experience was pleasant, and I'm glad I did it. I gave some detailed feedback about a few aspects of the UI, but basically the thing is getting close to 1.0-ready I think. (Probably v1.0 will coincide with publication of their paper?)

When will people stop being surprised about tech companies giving money to awful people?
Tech is engaged in a purge right now. They're deliberately pushing away people who would get mad over them giving money to DHH. They literally don't want our business, because we have expectations. It's not like you and I are likely to be in a position to make purchasing decisions for large tech companies anyway, because we're repelled from those positions for exactly the same reason.
That those of us with left-leaning tendencies ever managed to get into any positions of power in tech is an accident of history, one that's being corrected.
Delete your account, but don't delude yourselves into thinking they're gonna give a shit. Raspberry Pi never reversed themselves. Framework never reversed themselves. Because technically inclined people who are ever gonna be in any position of power are either fascists or just don't give a shit (and thus are fascists). Tech has never been on our side and never will.
