The new Our Perspective is live: Kolby and I on how much of life is built around sight, from dance to school to music. Her sister can physically show her a dance move and it still does not make sense to her. Listen and subscribe: https://pnc.st/s/our-perspective/7bc54486/it-doesn-t-make-sense-to-me

In comments about a proposed bill to accomodate women's health conditions, PA GOP Rep. Barger says if he was required to accommodate a woman’s menopause he would find a reason not to hire her, as he’s done with other potential "problematic" employees.

This year's #NobelPrize in Chemistry will be awarded tomorrow 🏅

Here's a reminder of the research that has won the prize in previous years, including molecular sponges, the prediction of protein structures, and clicking together new medicine molecules: https://www.compoundchem.com/category/nobel-prizes/

In two sentences, @pluralistic explains my entire career.

I’m a translator. It used to be that if you wanted to know what someone had scrawled in a lab notebook in Hebrew - or on an affidavit, or a contract, or a medical file - you had to find someone like me who knew NOT ONLY Hebrew and English but also things about what we call the “domain of knowledge” - genomes or the finer points of legal terminology or the way anatomy works and the shifting acronyms for all things medical.

Re-upping this - I am trying to help out someone who is being harassed via Opentable. I can't really go into much more detail than that without giving away info, but it's all as a direct result of some security decisions made there, and I'd like to speak with someone at the company about the practices that have allowed this, and also helping in this specific case.

RE: https://christine-seeman.com/rocky-mountain-ruby-2026/

My @rockymtnruby recap! Really the tl;dr is go to more regional ruby/rails conferences! Meet more people, don't have FOMO because it is easy and sustainable to hit every talk, learn how to crochet....I may or may not remember how to do that last one and might have to get more tips from @ChaelCodes 😉

"Ask a hundred trans people what their greatest regret is in transition, and you’ll get the same answer from 99 of them: “Not starting my transition sooner.”"

This couldn't be more true. At least it is for me.

The Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to Francis Halzen for his discovery of high-energy neutrinos, which provide direct paths to their origin. From the IEEE Spectrum archives, read how the IceCube Observatory actually works and the way a team of scientists was able to track such an elusive particle: https://spectrum.ieee.org/icecube-the-polar-particle-hunter
