New Earliest "Emoji" Sets From 1988 & 1990 Uncovered

In 2019 Emojipedia detailed a historic revelation: Docomo’s i-mode emojis from 20 years prior were not the first to exist. Now, in 2024, further digital excavations have led to the recreation of "emoji" designs that predate both Softbank’s 1997 emoji set and the ❤-enabled Pocket Bell pagers of 1995.

Question for you Palm PDA savvy folks: Is there a trick to getting text editor undo to work? The only reason I don't use my Palm M500 for more writing is that the typing undo feature doesn't work in any text editor I've tried (Card Txt is my usual go-to).

I've released version 0.3.8 of my WIP #Psion Agenda-like "Pygenda" app targeting keyboard-equipped PDAs running Linux (e.g. #GeminiPDA, #CosmoCommunicator, #PinePhone with keyboard).

The main additions this release are:
• Anniversaries – something that Psion Agenda had, but which isn't in the iCal spec.
• Calendar styles, so you can set CSS for entries depending on the entry's calendar source (see photo for example).

Docs & source on Codeberg (or GtHb): https://codeberg.org/semiprime/pygenda

A photo of a Gemini PDA - a clamshell palmtop computer with a keyboard similar to a Psion Series 5, bit with a colour screen. The Gemini is running Pygenda under Linux. Pygenda is in Week View, with a layout like a traditional paper diary. Various events are shown and are highlighted in yellow (for work entries) or blue (for personal entries).
