@gubi
L'alternativa è peggio.
O vuoi dire che in Afghanistan oggi stanno meglio?
@wendyhermedy Very true. Also why someone on Mastodon once said that instead of the term "influencers," we should use "sellouts"!
people say nothing is impossible, but i do nothing every day

"Rubio has excised — for now — sections that would forever bar Ukraine from joining NATO and that banned NATO member states from forming a security force inside Ukraine that would deter Russia from launching a new invasion."
Sounds good, but is it just another head-fake, since Russia will not agree to it?

#tdc5065 #ds106 Going All Nostalgic On Us
https://daily.ds106.us/tdc5065/
There’s not much more powerful magic of nostalgia than the music of youth. Use The Nostalgia Machine to choose a year from your childhood and then find a song that resonates with you. Share out either a screenshot of your chosen year or a link to the video that caught you attention and drew you back into the past.

Hat nod to Tellio for this one!

@creating #tdc5065 #ds106 #dailycreate I dialed the Nostalgia Machine back to my world entrance in 1963 (so far down the menu WTF?).
So much of the music listed was crooning happy stuff, but the Safaris Wipeout stands out for being a bit off and fun and just makes you want to drum along on your table. And just a precursor to the electric guitar sound of the late 1960s I enjoy.

Your periodic remainder that information in solid state hard drives is stored as charge in NAND gates, and without power that charge is gradually lost.
It’s not very bad (1 to 10 years before data loss), and it probably won’t affect most of the people who power their SSD-based devices quite regularly.
But you know that old laptop gathering dust in your cabinet, or that server backup stored on an SSD in you drawer?
Remember to power them up at least once a year.

@gabrielesvelto Two weeks ago I bought 64gb ddr5 for 330€ in expectation of rising prices. The exact same RAM now costs 609€. just crazy...

Blue whales fall silent due to starvation, seen as a warning of a collapsing #ocean #ecosystem.
🐋
Blue #whales are calling less than they used to... a strange and heartbreaking shift that scientists link to shrinking krill populations during marine #heatwaves. When these giants struggle to find enough food, they spend more time searching and far less time singing... a change that signals stress in both the animals and the ecosystem they depend on. 🐋
