@rgo I have abandoned Pis after taking them seriously for years, now I buy old min-PCs on ebay, they are super flexible and have some horsepower.
But we'll raise VC money and use "money is no object" hardware, I am serious about the fun part.

@Floppy Kind of wondering if it would be easier to move to another technology ecosystem than to make a large scale fork of Rails. It's so integrated to the dependencies that it wouldn't be enough to fork Rails itself, as many of the 3rd party dependencies would also need to be forked.
I remember reading a good blog post about it a few months ago, where the overall conclusion was that it was less painful to switch programming languages than to distance away from Rails inside of the Ruby ecosystem.
@autiomaa yeah, that would be hard, and moving away slowly to something like Hanami is probably what I'll personally end up doing, but god, it's such a shame, and such a vast amount of work.

Ghosts are sci-fi.
As non-corporeal entities, there is nothing tethering them to the earth. The movement of the planet, from its rotation to its movement through the solar system, the solar system through the galaxy, etc., the Earth should be leaving a giant wake of spirits behind it in space.
If they have something.to be tethered but can still pass through walls, they should get sucked down to the center of the Earth's gravity well immediately.
So, if you see a ghost, it is a master of astrodynamics and should be feared.

Ive personally not read any theory (im not a fan of book reading at all, sue me) and i just started pondering one day "hey, so how come by renting you can make infinite money and still maintain ownership?"
And then you dig deeper and deeper and realize that theres 2 types of money makers, the labour for money, and the "just sit on yer arse and have others make it for you". I think rent as a concept is the simplest way to explain this to, well, anyone... The more you own, the less you work.
Its modern slavery disguised as freedom.
Anyway i wanna finish off by commenting that i find it severely impractical to yell at people to read theory (something i see nutjobs online do all day every day)
People arent gonna sit around and absorb 100 year old books to be proven right or wrong in their day to day...
This is a utopian fantasy. Stay practical people, bread and butter issues. Bread and butter.

@scy das Tusky Ding ist schade, ich bin deshalb zur offiziellen App gewechselt, die für mich ganz gut funktioniert. (Visibility UI bei Masto ist immer so ne Sache, bin da auch nicht 100% happy)
@tante Noch ist der Leidensdruck nicht groß genug um die App zu wechseln, weil ich mit Tusky eigentlich recht zufrieden bin und Diversität im Ökosystem gut finde, aber ja :\
Was diese Visibility-Geschichte angeht, muss ich mich wahrscheinlich jetzt echt mal ernsthaft in Userscripts und Grease-, Tamper- oder Wasauchimmermonkey einlesen, das kann so nicht bleiben.
Ich würde auch Keyboard-Shortcuts nehmen, aber die gibt's für den Teil des UIs ja auch nicht.
