@kris_of_pnictogen Let’s just leave it here, ok. I’m not really into casually insulting people on the internet. Enjoy your slice of the fediverse.
@Taweret what the fuck?!?!
@simonjust that's 100% correct, and there's a phrase in the ATmosphere (AT Protocol community) that is: "We can just do things"
And I want to enable that for ActivityPub
@thisismissem That's very cool!
I'd imagine some kind of Fediverse wide brainstorming session in which people try to come up with ideas that could be fun to build.. Like cool integrations and perhaps something that is very different from social media apps (that we know and love, but we got plenty 😂 ) .

Across nearly 100 submissions to our #StopCensoringAbortion survey, we saw systemic over-enforcement, convoluted policies, sudden account bans, and ignored appeals. On Friday, leaders from EFF, Plan C, M+A Hotline, and Women on Web will discuss what’s happening and the future of sharing info online.
"raven, our shared potential... its not too late"
my take on ayre
TIL Kirby is nonbinary
@farah and nombinary
Suddenly, I noticed a faint smell of tuna. I looked over at my office partner, Dr. Hunt. She was grinning by the machine she'd built.
"It works!"
"Nice," I said. "What is it?"
"What you smell is the ghost of tuna!"
I felt something brush against my leg. The office filled with ghostly purring.
@MicroSFF ...And your last point is exactly why elected governments the world over - with a very few exceptions - have cut education spending for the past fifty years.
@kris_of_pnictogen Well it was nice running into you, Kris of Pickyernose, on the fediverse, I guess.
#StokeSpace, one of the brightest stars in the #Seattle area's #space startup community, says $510 million in fresh funding brings total capital raised to nearly a billion dollars - and should clear the way for the first launches of its fully reusable #Nova rocket next year. https://www.geekwire.com/2025/stoke-space-510m-nova-rocket/
Oregon Accelerates Green Energy Projects Before Trump Phase-Out of Tax Credits
---
Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek told state agencies to take “any and all steps necessary” to expedite solar and wind permits before federal green energy tax credits expire next year. The order prioritizes high-priority projects to begin by July 2026.

@phildini It might depend on the account. I have aliases set up for my Fastmail account, or at least alternate email addresses
@emorydunn it does seem to work for Fastmail but not Gmail?? Bizarre
@leighelse Welcome to Encyclopaediast Club! We're going to need to work undercover because The Regime will be trying to hunt us down for sharing secret knowledge with the people about, like, how to grow seeds and make practical woollen tunics and stuff.
So you're going to need a cool Encyclopaediast name. I’m “Doctor Taxonomy”. What do we call you?
@mementomaori
@thibaultamartin Might I ask which company this is? I could do with a new laptop soon
And if you hear anyone claiming – like heavily AI invested¹ Bill Gates has claimed² – that "AI" will help solving the climate crisis, remember this:
We really don't need a supercomputer to tell us what needs to be done. This is not rocket surgery. We need to lower fossil fuel emissions. That's it. And we already know this.
AI "helping" with climate crisis is purely hypothetical at this point. But the harms related to this bubble are already here. In form of coal plants not being retired.
@rysiek what's also a very good achievement stated in the article and which goes also toward _replacing_ fossil fuels: renewable addition matches electricity demand increase. Article is not super clear on it, but it's a good development!
I always parse this like "reader, I married him"
@kissane say political extremists create a group for themselves to follow...
@marz We currently do this with Tomato Ketchup and Pesto.
Two things which we, whilst in the supermarket, are never quite sure if we have "enough of" and because neither my wife or I want to risk coming home to an empty jar, we buy one more.
Then we get home and start to pack the shopping away only to realise we have *multiple* of the thing we just bought already, sometimes even unopened.
Thats our Sunny D.
