@phillycodehound@indieweb.social We’re adding Mastodon API support, which will let you use Bonfire through any compatible client app. Aiming to include it in version 1.0.2!

I've been giving lots of feedback to the @Bonfire@bonfire.cafe guys. They're taking things up SUPER fast. It's been absolutely incredible.

I recommend folks try out Bonfire, because it's honestly shaping up to be the one stop shop platform for social networking, consuming news, eventually handling calendar events, etc.

They just let me know about the new Git they just put up about Bonfire Widget suggestions. What would YOU want to see in Bonfire?

@danielk@pkm.social we're working on it 😊 github.com/bonfire-networks/...

…I’m particularly enthused about where Bonfire Networks may go with their Community app.

How amazing it will be to have an option that isn’t Facebook or Nextdoor

I have a friend who is aiming to do interesting things with several hundred Facebook groups he owns. The gist of it is to try and leverage one of the worst companies in the world as a platform for carbon drawdown. We may see this year if that has legs. More on that some time.

But obvs, that’s still using Facebook as a starting place.

One of the great things to look forward to in 2026 is what @Bonfire are building: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwZZKSXbWX4

“Yes, the Fediverse is sometimes clunky, nerdy, uncomfortable. But it belongs to us. It’s not over-regulated, not driven by capital, not buggered up by algorithms. It’s what social media once aspired to be: A network of people, not brands.“ Via @hildabast

@ozoned@btfree.social @mayel we fixed the issue in recent alphas, tomorrow we will ship the 1.0.1 for you to upgrade! lot of improvement esp in regard of performance!!

> I can't pretend to predict what 2026 will bring, even if every other person on LinkedIn can

lol 🤣🤣

It's nearly 2026 so, what better way to look ahead than a blog post 👀

It worked, thanks 🙏

Happy holidays, fediverse!

I got you a megathrust earthquake, soil liquefaction, spine-tingling papers about the way our networks confound knowledge, and a PDF in a pear tree. It's my wrap on a year of trying to make sense of how we make sense of what's happening to us.
