FROM EVERYWHERE, FOR MADAGASCAR
Dear international friends,
Today, you see the Malagasy people taking to the
streets.
The government and its henchmen are trying to
convince you that this is a violent protest meant only to
cause trouble.
REFUSE TO BELIEVE THEIR PROPAGANDA.
The Malagasy are marching for THEIR RIGHTS, trampled
for 16 years:
Their right to access water, electricity, education, their
land, healthcare...
Their right to speak, to move, to work, to build their
future...
Scarred by the bloodshed of the 2009 protests,
Malagasy people have stayed silent for a long time.
But today, even though they fear for their lives, they are
marching to make their voices heard.
Listen to their cries.
MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD TO KEEP THEM ALIVE.
Those in power are less likely to give the order to shoot
when they know the world is watching.
