Why don't you make like a tree and grow steadily while shielding others around you?
RIP #CharleneTheCat
I held Charlene in my arms, talking to her and giving scritches this morning as she passed in the vet's office. After 6 months of struggling with probable cancer, and a very rough week, she's now at peace. We both are. 💜
Snapped her final picture in the vet's office.
Love you, my brother. We will always remember her. 🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂

Meat proxy as a service.
@bagder You can always ask this one question:
What did you actually contribute beyond prompting the AI things I could've just promoted myself?
This sconce looks like Clippy, right?
@Alice Yeah...
Seen a bunch of people sharing that "RemoveMacAI" tool, so feel like I should point out it's largely built on top of someone else's tool that isn't getting anywhere near the same love: https://github.com/4evy/pared
@misty what do folks recommend for people who are not that tech savvy but still would like to remove the AI?
ERC o Junts han aconseguit res del PSOE per Catalunya?
@spla fer caure el govern espanyol. Només per això ja em val la pena votar Junts.

I fell for the Booking.com WhatsApp scam today. There has apparently been a #databreach at #bookingcom, which provides a little bit of truth to this "please verify your credit card now" scam. They knew my name, my phone number, the hotel I was staying at and the exact dates. That, a little bit of time pressure and a potential quick solution got me.
I managed to complete the flow once, which according to them would only reserve the money. Something failed and I tried again. This time they were asking me to confirm the balance of my account for verification, and that finally triggered the alert for me.
I'm retrospect, the originating WhatsApp number was located in Brazil (which was not where I was going). The name didn't match the name of the Hotel representative in the message, and the website's title was Booking.com, which didn't match the actual host name in the URL. I didn't notice.
Approach shit like this calmly and don't let people push you to rash decisions.
I hate to over-simplify, but here's what I recommend for a #CSS architecture:
- use selectors for selecting (not for specificity)
- use data-attributes for grouped selector patterns
- use at-layer for layering selector priority (widely available)
- use at-scope for scoping selectors (newly available)
- use nesting for modifiers on a selector
@mia my ideal setup (once support is good enough):
- selectors for selecting
- data attributes for variations (like your data-size). But still specific to one selector/element, not shared or grouped
- at-layer only when dealing with 3rd party stylesheets. Specificity is a really nice tool if you master it and too much at-layer kinda clobbers it.
- at-scope for scoping
- nesting for conditions and states (any conditional at rule and any pseudo class like :hover)
If I’ve learned anything from this 40 years of life it’s that people don’t care if you stop talking to them.
A minuscule amount of people will change their behavior to keep you in their lives
@farah
In my opinion, Farah, this is an accurate observation.
@araucana wow, WTF!!!!

And yet the people who do the rescuing are all volunteers in the UK. People who go to the aid of others without question, and without asking anything in return. They are the best of us.

I’m “pulled a muscle opening a jar of pickles” old, apparently.
It still needs some work, but last night I made a web app - for myself - which will let you track TV shows and show you new releases. 📺️
It links off to the appropriate streaming service OR a torrent search so you can easily keep up to date with your fave shows. ✨️
