@consumablejoy Also this thread is filling out my Rav friends list! I think I need to create a label/list for "FediRavellers". Here and on Rav. I know I've got a lot of crossover but have trouble matching them up, as Rav's not AP-enabled.

Ooh, wonder if we could figure out a Bridgy-Rav utility with the A New Social guys (one of their spouses is a knitter).

Ravelry remains, to me, the most under-appreciated database design and information management system ever developed. The "social network" part of it seems to have been entirely accidental, but it blew up, took over, then burned out over the first 15 years or so. But as a database and information management platform - Jess and Cassidy built something absolutely *genius*.

@consumablejoy I mean that. I worked in huge big-data IT roles for decades in an area that's generated several billion-dollar IT companies that position themselves as "knowledge management" corporations. And their design and workflows absolutely suck compared to this little "knitting website".

@consumablejoy I keep a running project list in a text file on my laptop, and re-save it in January so I have a record of what I've done every year and what I still plan to do.

I haven't used Ravelry regularly since it became a headache machine. I occasionally look up patterns there when I can't find good ones elsewhere, but I sure as hell don't keep my records there.
