@molly0xfff idk the first thing about #knitting or #crochet, but the people who do these crafts seem very fun-spirited. So, I share this reminder that the U.S. National Park Service has patterns for a goat, a cactus, fish, triops, a beaver, and more. https://www.nps.gov/search/?query=Crochet&sitelimit=&affiliate=nps
finished this lil' cutie a while ago and gave it to a lovely someone
I really like how it turned out! Cute but not *too* cute, cuddly with no metal wire or such, but still able to kinda stand up

#crochet #FiberArts folks, got any suggestions for what to do with leftover yarn when I'm finished with a project? I've been setting it aside for a "scrap" blanket and baskets, but curious if anyone has favorite projects they like to use leftover yarn in. I'm talking half a ball or less per yarn, 50 to 60 meters tops and in some cases only 10-20 meters.
Like every (most?) other fibercrafters I've an always expanding stash.
Now I've made a recap about in- and outgoing yarn for the last year.
Result: I really should take up more weaving. Because nothing eats yarn like that.
Incoming: 30.700 m of yarn
Outgoing: 19.000 m
My two "biggest" (most yarn using) projects were those two cardigans - each one has about 2.000 m in it.

Due to my left arm being temporarily out of service, I am trying to use more voice control on my devices rather than typing one-handed, which is why I now know that when my phone tries to read the word "crocheting" it comes out as "crotch eating."
I’ve been wearing my #crochet lanyard at work all week, and it’s been quite an interesting experience.
I’ve been asked about it every day; and, except for one young woman, everybody would ask me who made it for me.
When I tell them I made it, they either didn’t believe me or were so shocked I had to keep telling them it’s true 😅
I’d then show them things I’d knitted and they all get a bit mind blown.
I don’t normally share that I can knit and crochet with people at work unless it directly comes up in conversation, so I think it really catches people off guard that this Iraqi man is doing what they see as an old woman’s pastime.
The young woman (a patient’s relative) was the only person who came up to ask about her relative, and suddenly went “OH MY GOD DID YOU CROCHET YOUR LANYARD?!”
I told her I was very happy that she actually immediately assumed that I’d made it, rather than ask me who made it for me 😊
Anyway, now I’m having to make a batch cos suddenly everyone wants a crochet lanyard 🙄
