This is interesting: @EUCommission is making Google unlock their AI assistant key bindings so it can be changed to other providers - no Gemini as default - and also provide search data to other search engines.

@manum I haven't read the specifics but its interesting to me how targeted the press releases are.

I'll look it up later, but I wonder if the law is more generic; that it does / should / could read that 'any hardware-based shortcut key to an first-party Assistant should be reboundable to third-party assistant apps'

So even if Apple says their AI-based Siri isn't available in the EU, their existing shortcut to old Siri should be changeable...
