A great deal of #LLM and #AI is indeed hype and bullshit, but there's many basic #surveillance tasks (mostly pattern matching, and monitoring deviations from normal behaviour) that basic algorithms can very easily process quicker than humans, and feed their findings to humans for such purposes as #traffic #law enforcement - already #Australia and #UK are working together on "AI" enabled #CCTV cameras with #ANPR monitoring, that can detect not only #speeding but illegal use of #mobile phones and possible #DUI or defective vehicles (such as where the driver is having difficulty staying in correct lane)

Well, I have a "working" OAuth2 authorization mechanism for #ONI instances for #mobile.
So far it loads an #ActivityPub actor fetched from an URL that the user provides, checks if it matches an ONI main actor and then performs the authorization.
So far so good, it only took me about 3 and a half days of work to get to this point from zero knowledge about #dart or #flutter.

- The only device that I was aware of launched in the #EU was a #SimLock'd & #NetLock'd #prepaid phone in #Spain which wouldn't sell it to us since they demanded #KYC with a spanish residency address.
I mean it's cool that one could just use #Firefox as #Emulator but no #mobile#OperatingSystem will have any chance of market attraction if one cannot buy the bloody thing!
