#Congress funded the program after the 2022 #Uvalde #SchoolShooting. The grants were intended to help schools hire more #counselors, #psychologists & #SocialWorkers, & focus on rural & underserved areas. But Trump’s admin opposed #diversity considerations used to award the grants & told recipients they wouldn’t continue past Dec 2025.
