🗣️Thank you to Nate for having me on the Coach Vision #Podcast

To fellow coaches and #fitness pros: Our lived experiences aren’t just valid—they’re vital. They help us build inclusive spaces, challenge #racism and #misogyny, and drive #health equity in our industry and communities💪🏾

📣These conversations aren’t always easy—but they’re always necessary. And they’re worth it

🇺🇸Never forget: The Constitution cannot be selectively applied or disregarded when inconvenient. Rights aren’t reserved for the few—they’re guaranteed for all. History reminds us that when one group is dehumanized, others are never far behind.

Your voice matters. Don’t let silence win. Know your rights, and protect the rights of those you serve…

4/4

👉🏽 As Coach Wilder puts it:
“The only way you can protect people is understanding that the Constitution has a role. And we have to rely on that. And we can’t cherry-pick it.”

After the Code of Conduct and the Mediation process, the Cooperative Development Guidelines now have a Governance Document that can be used by any Organization/Foundation/Collective/Community/Project that wants to have a governance based on participatory, equity and permacomputing/accessibility principles.

Its time for us to finally start building participatory digital commons, that are developed by the community and for the community and the Governance document is part 1 of doing just that. (Decision making and Structure will follow after this).

I am also excited to announce that @queerspark has also been listed as a collective that adopted pieces of the Cooperative Development Guidelines.

"Let me tell you a little secret: most New York Jews really like New York’s diversity. We like that it attracts the Mamdanis of the world. We like sharing it with people of lots of different backgrounds. That’s what makes us feel safe and happy here. Especially when they are such a mensch like him: a nice college boy, his parents are professors, he went to Bronx Science, and to a liberal arts school."

"Wolf [Glosser, Stephen Miller's 2-g-grandfather] arrived at Ellis Island on January 7, 1903. He peddled bananas in New York City and changed his name to Louis. 'One of the main things everybody wanted to do when they came to America was become Americanized,' recalled his grandson Izzy.

All their lives, the Glossers would strive to help the poor and persecuted."

"Stephen Miller is an immigration hypocrite. I know vecause I’m his uncle.

If my nephew’s ideas on immigration had been in force a century ago, our family would have been wiped out.

Let me tell you a story about Stephen Miller and chain migration."

As the odious Stephen Miller tries to convince heartland Americans that immigrants and diversity have made New York City the enemy, it's worth remembering that he descends directly from Jewish ancestors who fled persecution and poverty for that very city.

Jean Guerrero tells the story in her book Hatemonger, excerpted at the link below.

"Fox News may present an endless stream of anti-urban fear-mongering to its viewers while it lionizes the allegedly 'real' Americans who live in rural America, but it isn’t not going to relocate its studios to rural North Dakota. Nor are the Wall Street titans going to leave the city, even if (heaven forfend) they have to pay a bit more in taxes. They will, however, keep whining."

"I’m sorry, but you are gonna have a hard time convincing liberal educated upper-middle-class Jews not to like a college-educated, left-leaning immigrant—and one who tried to make a career in the arts?! Forget about it. The guy is practically Jewish!"

Sean Tilley liked this activity

When I see "Atheists" saying that "religion" is the problem, they are often so short-sided they don't recognize the violence in their words.

Understanding and love aren't born out of uniformity, but out of acceptance of difference. That difference can lead to conflict, but we must believe in the rights and strength of difference. This is the core tenant of liberalism, a word that has taken quite a hit lately, but whose values I think are a cornerstone of Western civilization.

Understanding and acceptance is more than mere tolerance, but a celebration of difference.

That means loving someone who looks different than me, who worships differently, whose sexual orientation or relationship styles are different from mine, whose gender expression and maybe even concept of gender is different than my own.

We should celebrate the diversity, not tamp down on difference and demand that we all be the same.

#Diversity

Movement. Connection. Belonging.💪🏾

✨Just another day at the Malden Senior Center.

✅ Every week, people ages 65 to 95+ move together, grow together, laugh together, and remind us that we are stronger together.
