Tomorrow at the makerspace, I need to remove 0.25mm from the inner dimension of an item made of stainless steel. The item has rounds and straight sections and I'm kinda breaking my brain trying to work out how best to do it. I could use the boring head on the mill... Or an end mill and rotary table... Or the lathe and a boring bar... Or several other methods. I'm not sure which. Fortunately. The tolerances aren't too bad. 250um +50um, -0um.
Need to think.

I'm thinking to add an escapement mechanism to my metal shaper, to rotate the piece by steps at every stroke of the ram, without having to deal with servomotors, sensors, g-code, etc. when I want to make something round(ish).
After that ,it's just a matter of choosing the right gears to rotate the piece around the Y or the Z axis.
Maybe @attoparsec (who has both a metal shaper and an escapement movement as logo for his Youtube videos) has clues…

Hey Washington, there's a profoundly bad law making its way through the state level.
This law, will require ALL 3d printers to send copies of the files you print directly to the government to be check against a database of "banned shapes".
Literally turning your 3d printer into spyware. And if you don't voluntarily turn your printer into a spy, you will be a class C Felon.
This law affects ALL CNC machines, not just 3dps.
