The conditions under which Gaza's population is heading into winter are inhumane. But not enough people in my country are paying attention to the issue.

Tonight's was the last pot banging demo outside Assen station this year.

I'm hoping for some kind of Christmas miracle so we don't have to return on the 8th of January.

Unfortunately, with the plight of Palestinians having been pushed out of the news there doesn't seem to be much chance of a rapid improvement so I expect we'll be back next year to continue to try to raise awareness.

Pot banging for Gaza tonight at Assen station. The genocide continues, while Gazans try to survive in patched up tents, on flooded land, in winter, on limited rations because the Israelis are still starving the population.
This must stop.

Two weeks have passed since I posted a photo of the weekly pot-banging demonstration, but that doesn't mean it wasn't happening. Last Thursday, and the Thursday before I was amongst those protesting against the continuing Israeli genocide of Palestinians at the station in Assen. The "ceasefire" hasn't stopped the killing. Hundreds of Palestinians continue to die at the hands of the Israeli army in Gaza and at the hands of the "settlers" in the West Bank.
This must stop.
There's not a lot of that people living in Western nations can do directly, but we can very easily commit to never buying Israeli goods and services, or those from companies linked to Israel, and by voting for politicians who will try to raise the subject internationally.

Weekly demonstration for Palestine by the station in Assen. Yesterday was UN World Children's Day so as well as making a noise we also had a reading of the names of children who have been murdered by Israel. Over the last two years, Israel has killed children in Gaza at an average rate of about one per hour. Over 20000 innocent lives cut short by the genocidal state of Israel. The horrors have not ended and nor have our protests.
From a personal point of view as a citizen of a country in Europe we have limited options, but we can all choose not to buy Israeli goods, not to support companies who trade with Israel and to vote for politicians who seek justice and who do not support Israel.

Don't buy Israeli apartheid. Stop the starvation. Stop the genocide.

Yesterday was World Children's Day so we particularly emphasized the rights of children. A small collection of toys made up part of the demonstration. There was a reading of names of some of the children who have been killed by Israel. Only a tiny fraction of them, of course, because there are too many names to read out in just one hour.

Back at Assen station yesterday evening for the weekly pot banging demonstration to support Palestinians.
Plenty of people were supportive yesterday. They took leaflets, joined us to bang pots for a bit, or just waved support.

Pot banging again tonight in front of Assen railway station.
Israel has killed hundreds of Gazans since the "ceasefire" began. They're still refusing to allow adequate quantities of food and medicine into Gaza.
This must stop. The world must act.

A very murky photo of people standing outside the railway station in Assen. It's a lot darker than two weeks ago at the same time, partly because the clocks have changed (winter time).

Having got wet cycling through the rain and with the lower temperature going into winter it felt a bit cold for pot banging outside the station tonight, but I didn't mind. Life is easy for me. I have a warm home to come back to, unlike the people in Gaza who's homes have been destroyed and who are still being bombed by the genocidal Israeli state despite the so called #ceasefire

Photo of tonight's pot banging outside Assen railway station. It's not a huge crowd. I think the heavy rain and lower temperature put a few people off.
