@ascentale #BikeNitePQ I see 3 possible orientations for this tag. But what I’m really interested in is coming up with fun subtitles
@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNitePQ
There's a lot of focus on the physical benefits of cycling. But, do you also find cycling important to your mental health?
Be interested to hear people's thoughts.
From recent personal experience... I always knew it helped damp down anxiety & made me feel more positive. I perhaps didn't realise how significant the effect was until a recent 3 plus week hiatus.
For me a big part of it is just being outside, another part is making myself physically tired. Whatever the reasons I find cycling works particularly well compared to (say) running or walking.
Thanks!
Next #BikeNite is this Friday at 4pm Pacific standard time (UTC-8)!
This is our weekly call for questions. Reply with any you'd like me to add to the discussion on Friday. Please add the BikeNitePQ hashtag so it's easier to find a Proposed Question.

@MarkBrigham asks:
Maybe your old bike was new when you bought it; or maybe you collected a vintage bike because they don’t make ‘em like that anymore.
Is it your “Tweed Ride”, or everyday ride. Whatever the case, show us your antique (pre-1975) bicycle. Pics, year of manufacture, year you acquired, gearing, etc.
Q7. Aside from weight and efficiency, is it the best bike in your stable?

@ascentale @bikenite Yeah, we had quite a discussion on this earlier today. Apparently folks are following #BikeNitePQ to get a head start. I'm excited to see who else is ridin' a #Vintage or #antique #bicycle, occasionally or regularly.
Since it was my question, I'll post two antique steeds in my stable.
First up: 1961 Raleigh Sports, bog standard, with the most perfectly broken-in Brooks B-72 on the planet.
I love it. Show me yours!

@ascentale @bikenite if it hasn't already been done: how bright is your front light?
I nearly always bike on city streets and technically don't need anything super bright, just enough to make me visible, but recently upgraded my front light from a max-240 lumen one to max 400. I like the light to be bright enough to clearly light up reflective signs ahead. Plus, it comes in handy when I find myself taking an unlit path in the dark—not often, but when it happens I absolutely need it.
