I love this chart. The simple truth is that road wear isn't caused equally by all road users, and it isn't even a linear relationship to vehicle mass.

It's GEOMETRIC.

Today is my first official day of professional #retirement ,at the age of 67: arrival by #train in #Domodossola, in the #Italian#Alps , to start tomorrow morning a new #bikepacking adventure of over 1000 km on my #Brompton folding #bike (C-Line 6 gears). I'll keep you posted.

@pete I once asked the bike shop to change the pedals on a bike. Which was thirty-something years old, and still had the original pedals.

"You won't *believe* how much trouble we had getting the old ones off!" they said when I picked up the bike.

"Yes I would," I said, "why do you think I paid you to do it rather than trying it myself?"

I follow a link to a bike ride, which brings up Instagram. I'm logging into Instagram, but this page doesn't understand that. So I can't see the page for the event.

I open Instagram and search for the bike group. I follow the page. At which point it says someone needs to approve my request. So I still can't see the page for the event

People! You are a bike group advertising a public event! Stop making it so difficult to get the event information! 😠
