Two days on a road between St. Augustin Mixtepec and Cieneguilla. I need to add it to OSM when I get home. I saw 4 vehicles, and suddenly crossed over from spiky brown to leafy green, nearing the Pacific moisture. #Oaxaca #Mexico #BikeSky #BikeTooter
Bike fit / used bike questions - looking for a used bike for my partner (162 cm). Found this used Gitane aluminum xc bike, size M, rockshox Judy 26", hydraulic brakes, 2x9, SRAM or Shimano (I forget). We tested it - rides smooth, shifts and brakes well. Owner claims it was ridden on greenways, asking 200 EUR.
Does this size/price look right? I know the seat needs raising from the photos with her on it. The seat is in a higher position in the workshop photo.
She said she felt pretty far forward/in an aggressive position. Would a riser stem help? I have a spare Jones Loop H-Bar I could throw on. Not messed around much with bike geometry so I'd appreciate crowd input to see if we could make some cheap mods to make it more comfy! Or to pass and keep looking. FWIW it would be used for commuting/greenways/some xc mtb. We live in a hilly area with a lot of double and singletrack trails.

As much as I would love to keep Old Hank Blue, I do need to sell the bike. (Among others. We just don't have room for all of them. I'm keeping one bike for sure; it's Rusty the HardRock.)

I had lunch, then decided to get outside for some fresh air. Then thought, the heck with it. Grabbed my helmet and Old Hank Blue, the 80's Schwinn Typhoon. Went for the inaugural test ride. I rode down to a park near our home.
The bike did very well! My knees, not so much. I may need to raise the saddle a tad.
I'm home now. I was immediately taken cat hostage as soon as I sat down.
Overall, I'm going to call it a success. Will post more pictures on my Buy Me a Coffee page soon.

I spent siesta time in San Jos茅 Lachiguiri. These cisterns with faucets are very convenient for bikepackers. But I think they also mean much of the town lacks indoor plumbing.
After a week around 3000m in the Sierra Ju谩rez I dropped down into the valley containing Mitla and Tlacolula at 1500m to cross over to the Sierra Madre Sur. The biomes are so different.
