Fun fact: #Halloween in the north of England used to be known as nut-crack night.
People would mark nuts with the names of lovers and place them around a fire.
Nuts that sizzled, spat or jumped indicated romantic incompatibility. nuts that burned together suggested peaceful, happy partnerships.
(Ed: I feel a quip about cracked #nuts coming on🤣)

Good morning from Greece, where it is pistachio season.
#pistachio #nuts

Colour photo. Close-up on fresh pistachios in a bowl. They are covered in an outer peel and look a bit like pointy little mangos in shades of red and yellow. You peel off the reddish skin and inside is a pistachio, with a tender flexible shell. Unroasted, like this, they taste like a fresher, brighter version of themselves.
