This is where my love for my hero Bob Mould and Husker Du began. As a kid, I blind bought the Everything Falls Apart And More cd (the expanded one with the blue cover), because the older brother of a friend of mine told me they were essential listening.
I think I ended up buying something like 6 copies of it over time, due to either wear, people stealing it, etc.
The title track, Gravity, Target, the Sunshine Superman cover.
Those four songs would inform the rest of my music-going life; not just as a listener, but as a musician & songwriter myself.
Without hyperbole, Bob Mould gave me a purpose in life. Flash forward past the Husker albums, his solo records, Sugar… & here I stand.
I’m not who I am without Bob.
Not possible without him.
I hope I get to tell him one day.

A luglio sono usciti per Numero Group due EP di registrazioni dal vivo degli Hüsker Dü del 1985. Il primo, qui sotto, è parte di un concerto tenutosi al First Avenue di Minneapolis il 30 gennaio che fu registrato con l'intento di farne un album dal vivo. Il successo della band impose di rivedere i piani e i nastri finirono su uno scaffale, furono creduti persi per sempre in un incendio del 2011, ritrovati recentemente non si sa bene dove e da chi e riportati in vita dal team dell'Electrical Audio di Steve Albini. È una goduria, attendiamo il disco intero, grazie 💙
