MEAT PUPPETS
Too High To Die
2025 U.S. reissue
Oh man. This had been on my want list for a very long time, and I finally got one.
One of my most listened to albums in high school; a great one start to finish.
My HS band even had a few attempts at “Backwater”, to no avail. We could never quite get it. Stupid teenagers. 😂
A lot of these 90s records are getting reassessed; due to a lot of them pushing 30+ years old, and this reissue was looooong overdue.
Sounds pretty damn good too!

I have bad news for my wallet. I'm going to the vinyl store today. The biggest one in the mid-Atlantic, which happens to be 15 minutes from my house. #vinyl #vinylrecords

Forged in FreeCAD: SL-24, An Open Source Record Lathe
It’s a given that the FreeCAD community is awesome and make amazing things. Every now and again though a project really stops us in our tracks. None more so than this, the SL-24, an open source record lathe.

MOTHER LOVE BONE
Shine
2025 Europe reissue
Sky Blue opaque vinyl
Been listening to a lot of Mother Love Bone this week, and they’re a good choice to end a long week & kick off weekend festivities.
As I mentioned before on this week’s previous post of Apple, I first learned of them from the Singles soundtrack.
“Chloe Dancer/Crown Of Thorns” was always my favorite song on that album NOT named “Seasons” by Chris Cornell. It’s how I learned of Andy Wood, and it’s the reason I bought Shine, Apple, AND the purple 2xCD as a kid.
I like that they kept this reissue fully intact (unlike Apple), where they just repeat the whole 4-song program on both sides.
There’s no doubt in my mind (I’ve felt this way for decades) that they would have been bigger than ANY of those bands had Andy not died.
The fact that we never got to find out is one of the biggest (one of many) #90s musical tragedies.

SWERVEDRIVER
99th Dream
2025 U.S. 2xLP Ltd. Edition reissue
Silver reissue
Oh man. Another phenomenal band from my youth.
The four album run of Raise, Mezcal Head, Ejector Seat Reservation, and THIS were quite formative for me.
A great band that still doesn’t get the credit or respect they deserve.
Usually, when an album like this gets reissued, and they change or alter the cover to something different, it’s almost always for the worst.
Fortunately, the original cover for 99th Dream was so bad (I’ve always hated it), that THIS is actually an improvement.
Though, I STILL think they could have done better.
DGC dropped them after they recorded this, but they got to keep the masters. It’s a record that’s a little more #psychedelic and spacey than the previous three.
It was a nice final hurrah for SWERVEDRIVER 1.0, before they got back together and started recording again 17 years later.

Idk why I associate Wipers with the fall but I do. This album is so powerful and Greg Sage is a legend.
Wipers “Over the Edge” (1983)
“It's not the truth I see
It's just a mockery
Don't need to waste my time
You know I've really tried
You take and never give
Make it so hard to live
I'm hangin' on a ledge
Push me over the edge”
I went out on a limb and had a #vinyl record of the Miles Davis album Kind of Blue, a limited edition that is an actual blue record, sent to my son. I don't know if he listens to or likes #jazz, but I offered it to him anyway, figuring if he wants to explore, this isn't such a bad start or if he already like it, might appreciate having it. So, we'll see. It's also something quality that I can actually afford, lols, so there's that. 💙
Il discone della notte:
Facs – Present Tense (2021)
Il mio primo LP dei Facs, arrivato oggi ❤️
Fa parte della triade dei miei dischi preferiti dei Facs – una delle mie band preferite di questi anni – insieme a Still Life in Decay (2023) e Wish Defense (2025).

As promised, here are some of the records I picked up at the WFMU Record Fair this weekend. Mostly jazz, with an emphasis on cheap heat, as is my custom. Prices ranged from $2.50 to $20.
One more post from the WFMU Record Fair. If you want to see the rest, the entire haul is posted here: https://imgur.com/a/wfmu-record-fair-haul-november-2025-934cnss
More from the WFMU Record Fair ... don't sleep on the Earl Hines record!
