I feel like everybody who has a turntable probably has a copy of Mike Oldfield "Tubular Bells". But is yours designed for people with four ears? SQ quadrophonic format

The cutout of the sleeve is made so that you can see the whole #vinyl record in all its picturesque glory. From 1973 and in excellent shape. #music

Another innovation on that album was computer data for cassette interface. At the time there were multiple competing standards, including Tarbell. I wrote about this and data on vinyl before, let me dig up the link

Starts with Also Sprach Zarathustra. I've used a similar rendition to open a few live shows in the previous millenium
As we were discussing colored #vinyl #records, I just remembered that I had Isao Tomita "the Bermuda Triangle" album in full length and as a promo sampler, both in colored vinyl, from 1978. One clear aqua and one pink coral. #electronicmusic #classical #soundtrack #moog #synth
Tonight’s vinyl pics - a groovy 60s LP from The Ventures and Roam from the B-52s.
The B side has Bushfire which was a hit, too!
Adam And The Ants
Kings Of The Wild Frontier
CBS 1980
I always thought Adam and indeed his Ants never got the serious recognition they deserved. 1980 was prime music hero band worship era for me and I adored all of Adam’s records. Antmusic is unlike anything I’d heard before or since really. And aside from the well known singles there are some really well crafted and complex tracks here, Feed Me To The Lions and Ants Invasion are prime examples. This album along with Prince Charming and the earlier Dirk Wears White Sox are essential new wave / post-punk listening I think.

I have a large collection of #electronic and #computer #music #vinyl #records. I had a radio show on FM on the subject for about a decade. So it is always exciting to find something I don't have, especially early stuff. Found this 10" boxed "Music from Mathematics" from 1960, bell labs. Much more rare than 1962 Decca 12". Never seen it before. Found in a local shop, of all places, hiding inside a vinyl carry case.

Some music I leave behind. Other music, like that from Alan Parsons, I can listen to all the time and it never gets old.
