After seeing the video from the Henry Tech channel I tried #NetBSD on real hardware for the first time too. The installation really was not as intuitive to me as #OpenBSD and #FreeBSD , especially I was trying to install the system to a separate partition alongside FreeBSD on the same disk. But hey I finally did it after some googling!

Pilot compiling with #poudriere for #FreeBSD #ports went well! It did seem a bit complicated to configure at first but sing ports made easy with #poudriere and #jail. It was so simple and straightforward to actually run #poudriere that I secretly thought it took out all the fun of seeing scrolling screens of compling! #BSD #Unix #UseBSD #RunBSD #FOSS

Now after successfully building and loading drm-61-kmod for #FreeBSD using #ports, I am building the #xorg mininal port. Thanks all fedi friends for your help. #BSD #Unix #RunBSD #UseBSD #FOSS

I just upgraded #OpenBSD from 7.1 all the way up to 7.7 one release at a time in a #KVM VM running on my laptop #Debian. At first #tcsh and #vim were giving coredumps. I realized I did not even run #pkg_add even once so I did a doas pkg_add -u. After that all is fine and everything was like before. #OpenBSD is truely awesome!

Enjoyed reading about Eric's story about the past, present and future of #GhostBSD
