I’m thinking of splurging some serious money on fancy suspension for the KTM 790R, because I’m worth it.
Any experiences with Tractive suspension (The XTREME forks and shock)? https://tractivesuspension.com/ktm-790-adventure-r-fork-cartridge-kit-x-treme.html
"It doesn't matter which direction you pick, as long as you pick one and get moving!"
One of the quirkiest cards from the Everyday Witch Tarot - The Chariot! I created this deck with author Deborah Blake, published by Llewellyn Worldwide.
Signed art prints of this card (+ all the others) at http://albaillustration.etsy.com. I also have 2 remaining signed copies of the deck - signed by both myself AND Deborah (+ they come with extra goodies)!

Well crap. The local #motorcycle shop checked out my bike. Synchro mesh seems to be gone in the gearbox, for sure between first and second the mechanic says, but I think also between the other gears, because the gear lever won't return to an engaged position when downshifting from any gear...
So that's the sad end of the #framo25 tour. I am limping the bike to a nearby depot where I'll get a rental car which I'll drive home. The bike is going to be transported home at some point... Sadness.
Day 3 of the #framo25 #motorcycle tour: 347km, 3 countries (France, Switzerland, Italy, France) and 2 serious passes (Saint Bernard and Petit Saint Bernard).
Breakfast: fresh croissants and coffee from the unique (well, 1 of 2) @Valheru travel mug.
Oops! Three Luxemburg #motorcycle cops pulled me off the road. You're not allowed to attach anything to your helmet that has not been approved as part of the ECE rating of that particular helmet. So no camera (that was me) but also no communication unit like a Cardo or Sena. Only the helmet manufacturer approved comms built into the helmet are allowed.
They let me off with a warning luckily!
We'll see how good a plan that is, but I got to make some distance to get There.
Some motorway, some faster roads, a small detour past the highest point in the Netherlands that also serves as the tripoint where the borders of The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany meet. #motorcycle
What kind of fuel economy does your motorcycle get? Does it vary much between commuting and highway riding?
My commute is 7 km (4 mi), and my Harley gets about 7 L/100 km (33 mpg). That's 188 km (117 mi) per tank.
On the other hand, highway and backroad riding gets about 4.7 L/100 km (50 mpg). That's 280 km (174 mi) per tank—a huge difference!
Sometimes I miss my Grom's 2.2 L/100 km (107 mpg) fuel economy. But then again, it wasn't a very practical bike. 😁
Just a little PSA to any trail bikers in the UK who find the https://stegra.io app interesting...
Many of the byways that they are highlighting on the map are actually illegal to ride - they are closed with a TRO. It seems Stegra didn’t take this into account at all 🤦♀️

I want to ventilate on how important PPE is since it's the last stop between you and disaster
First these screencaps
As you can see wikipedia clearly states the importance of PPE on motorcycles.
Had my little cousin taken PPE into account he would have survived the crash, given the fact that he had undergone Judo where you learn how to properly break a fall ( he had not)
I'm a PPE freak and use it for everything;
When I cook I use EN388 cutlevel 5 gloves, I use ANSI Z87.1 glasses when I operate machinery like my grinders and drills, along with proper body PPE and earmufs with an NRR of -24dB. Same when I do heavy drilling / demolition / jack hammering, where you need to protect your scrotum and intestines against violent shaking of the machines.
In trucks I have full truck PPE all the way down to my underware, esp designed for driving heavy trucks with heavy loads
If I still screwup I only need to swap out that part of my PPE set with a new one, deduct what went wrong and why, and make sure I dont repeat the mistake

This insightful article forwarded to me by @somedude gives keen insight into the subject where pacing is key
