Friends who are members of the Liberal Democrats: internal party elections are going on, and I'm running for the Federal Council (an internal scrutiny committee) and the Federal Policy Committee.

Not sure how many Lib Dem members read my Mastodon posts, but: after quite a lot of consideration I am planning to run for the Federal Policy Committee and Federal Council in this year's internal party elections.
I've submitted my consents to be nominated. If you, or any friends you know who are party members, would like to nominate me, you should have an email from Civica in your inbox telling you how to do that: I need a minimum of twenty nominations for each position.

So: Liberal Democrat internal elections are soon and I'm mulling over whether to run.
Three years ago, I ran for their Federal Policy Committee and got 4-5 places (on a long ballot paper) below getting elected. Expect I'd do worse this time but could still try. I could also run for Council (internal scrutiny) or International Relations committees.
Anyway, if anyone has opinion on whether I should run, or for what, speak now or forever hold your horses, or something.

Will the #LibDems oppose this "poorly drafted legislation"?

Seems like the Young Liberal’s and a number of their University branch’s have come out in opposition of the Online Safety Act. Calling it a draconian attack on free speech. #onlinesafety #freespeech #libdems
