In 1946, and for the better of 80 years, capitalist firms were concerned with the cost of transportation of liquid products. It made shipments heavier, and it was due to something everyone (mostly) had at home - water. Getting rid of the water so that people could add it at home was cost-effective, and, at the same time, environmentally conscious.
Well, we have subsidized fuel so much that the economic worry is gone. And we have completely undervalued our environment in this capitalist hellscape. That is why, with not the least bit of amazement, I share with you that Minute Maid is no longer shipping concentrated orange juice. Truth is, it had become such a small part of the market, that I didn't even realize that they were still making this.
