I've talked with several Canadians about the "trade deal" breaking down and the emotion that's coming through most consistently is? Relief.
They knew Carney was prepared to sell out the entire country for the Canadian business class (the only ppl who want Trump running Canada) and they're glad Trump asked for too much at the last minute because otw they'd have gotten fucked.
Anecdotal ofc, I'm not surveying the country - but this was like five people in a row.
Why is autocorrect all of a sudden correcting the first letter of the first sentence EVERY TIME I TYPE SOMETHING? 🤬
If you enjoy seeing open sardine tins, please enjoy these trucks. #RochesterNY
@jongary oof, which bridge did this?
Just picked up milk and noticed the label says "100% milk from real cows". This wasn't something I was worried about before now.
@mattblaze milk from AI cows tastes like shit.

@kim @wendypalmer A solarpunk or degrowth future is not a slow and painful path unless you're one of the have-yachts.
For most people it's far preferable to the alternative of dystopia, fascism and collapse.
Of course if you work in the handful of jobs left in the oil industry you might disagree; we need to take all the workers with us, which means help for retraining and switching industry etc. But there are already more jobs in green tech than in dinosaur fossil industries.

@a @TheBreadmonkey Have you not seen Spy, the Paul Feig film? He’s genuinely terrific in it. I need to see it again.
And his bits in the gag reel are great https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=CRg9oaOFLmDYGiA3&t=125&v=bXs2P3XxAVg&feature=youtu.be

If you live outside of the United States,
do you know if your country has a plan if the US government decided to cut access to Google, Microsoft, and Amazon products overnight?
What would happen to your work?
What would happen to your hospitals?
What would happen to your emergency services?
What would happen to your banks?
Imagine overnight, for all those public services and private businesses, no more Windows, no more AWS, no more Google and Microsoft office software, no more remote files storage, no more emails, no more online maps, no more videochats.
What would happen?
Is your country prepared?
It would take a few weeks for most critical government services to be back on line in Canada.
I and my family outside of the USA would not miss much; we already have working systems for most of those services, including a Euro Office collaborative setup. We have self-hosted email servers on three continents.
But private industry would collapse and self-immolate.
And that includes almost all the food infrastructure - now largely owned by US corporations.
@andyn Wow, so just Federico and John now?! That’s not a team, that’s a pair.
@andycarolan @andyn How many folks were dismissed?
In keeping with the philosophy of an adaptive chosen message attack [13], we must allow the adversary to obtain examples of signatures under the update algorithm.
i don't think adaptive chosen message attacks are about philosophy?
it's also not called that. it's adaptive chosen plaintext or ciphertext
cheers to @timnitGebru for finding (EDIT: publicising!) the smoking gun on TESCREAL->Cofnas
@davidgerard wondering to which extent #UniZurich knows about and is okay with hiring an explicit fucking racist. @timnitGebru
Note the hash functions we discuss here are ones of public description. That is, the description of the function is provided to the adversary trying to find collisions. This is unlike the hash functions used in applications like finger-printing, where the description of the function is not available to
the collision-finder!
none of this makes sense?????

Today it really feels like the UK should have kept Mark Carney.
Sort of the way the UK should have kept comedian John Oliver, the EU, actor Anthony Hopkins, actor Emilia Clarke, inventor Alexander Graham Bell, the Dyson company, and Lloyds.
Well at least Britain kept The Original London bridge.
Wait… no… NO WAY!

@randahl Some were born British, some became British, and some had Britishness thrust upon them.
But none of that matters. What counts is that they stand up for honesty, integrity and the rule of law...
@ami_angelwings Also V, in V for Vendetta, imprisoning Evie and subjecting her to extreme trauma "for her own good."
@KevinCarson1 @ami_angelwings Yeah, that’s a GREAT answer, now that I think about it. Thanks.
