Bummer. I tried the solution on my iPhone and it worked like a charm. Maybe because Android devices are so different from one another it’s not universal?

@aral And when social media bans happen all the queer kids with abusive families are left alone in a world that destroyes third places. It makes me so fucking angry, as little corners of the internet were crucial in my journey of self-discovery
As somebody who was bullied out of several schools and lacked any third places to meet people, I genuinely sympathize with them having to just bottle up the rest of their lives.

C'est une société privée qui monopolise l'espace public et les services publics pour gagner de l'argent sur le dos des villes (qui paient pour que le tour passe par chez elles) et les marques (qui paient pour être affichées), le tout avec des coureurs tous plus dopés les uns que les autres vu qu'ils explosent des records chaque année (ce qui n'est pas humainement possible).

A hypothetical: Imagine I held a magic wand that could make AI systems improve in all the following ways:
- More environmentally friendly
- Less capturable by a few large corporations
- Less built on "plagiarism machine" foundations
- More reasonable and capable of making judgements which are explainable, accountable, and more accurate
- More participatory and open
However, we are still left in our present socioeconomic system.
Should I wave the magic wand and improve things, or does improving AI in these ways still make the world worse?

I share the concern about provenance, citation, and scholarly integrity. Those principles remain essential. My own experience, however, has been that AI can also function as a cognitive partner rather than a substitute for sources. When used to compare ideas, identify assumptions, and stimulate metacognition—while continually returning to original works such as Polanyi, Dreyfus, and Klein—it can deepen rather than diminish scholarship. Perhaps the central question is not whether AI belongs in scholarship, but what practices ensure that it supports understanding instead of replacing it?
