This collector, Martin Schwartz, was obsessed about the links between various forms of Ottoman music including what we today called klezmer, and built up a big collection of 78rpm records that now reside at UC Santa Barbara.

Dimanche 30 novembre - Léa Platini - chants yiddish
"Léa Platini, musicienne, clarinettiste et chanteuse, fondatrice du groupe Les Oreilles d’Aman les stagiaires aborderont un répertoire varié de chansons yiddish, allant du traditionnel au moderne en passant par les nigunim, des chants spirituels sans paroles.
Ces chants seront l’occasion de découvrir ou approfondir la langue yiddish et de s’imprégner de cette culture.
Elle ouvre son champ d’études en allant vers les musiques et danses grecques, roumaines, ainsi que le chant judéo-espagnol.
Actuellement, elle développe toujours davantage ses projets musicaux et pédagogiques, dirige le Marseyer Klezmer Klang (ensemble klezmer amateur de Marseille), chante au sein des Bilbilikas (aux côtés de Françoise Atlan), donne des conférences. Elle se produit avec son groupe Les Oreilles d’Aman, notamment en région PACA, et enseigne à Marseille et au-delà en donnant des stages, master-classes et formations dans divers établissements d’enseignement musical."
