* Blacksky: has its own relay and appview, avoids using them because doing so sucks and they're unfeasibly expensive to leave switched on if you're not burning unlimited blockchain venture cash. Least worst alternative, still breaks whenever Bluesky breaks.
* Northsky: has a PDS and is at invitation only stage. No relay or appview plans
* Eurosky: has a PDS. No relay or appview plans. A straight up lie in the FAQ about their independence from Bluesky when they don't have a relay or appview.

Setting up age verification for my BBS
It's simple: if you know what a BBS is and manage to connect to it, you're clearly over 18.
@foone I am happy to report that our twins (a decade away from 18, in the younger direction) know what a BBS is, and can use telnet or ssh to connect to one.
They know, because I told them about BBSes, and they found the idea intriguing, and more enjoyable than the modern, slow, ad-filled web. They like the small-scale, community-oriented nature of the BBS era far more than the slop-filled modern internet.
They spent enough time on Youtube, saw my wife's Facebook enough times to know they want nothing to do with that stuff. They hate algorithmic timelines, ads, clickbait and ai slop. Anything that isn't that is great in their book, whether modern or old.

I discovered it a few weeks ago and I love to see all the details about the maintained packages.
I subscribed to many applications that are essential to me.
Unfortunately, you can also clearly see how much struggle it is to keep up with some software. The maintainers are great, but the software does not meet the necessary quality standards. At least I can draw my own conclusions about it.
Do you remember the surprise announcement of a new social network in Davos this past January? Something that promised to be the "first" European social network?
Its name is #WSocial and it's a fork of #Bluesky. Its founders have ties with European politicians - but there is no official involvement by the EU.
