@globcoco tout dépend de ce que les mainteneurs d'Aurora pourront faire, sinon... effectivement... 💩
Wait and see ! 🤞
hello nerds, can you help #GoToSocial out with a monthly donation to our OpenCollective?
https://opencollective.com/gotosocial
we're trying to get together an income of a few thousand euros a month to supplement @dumpsterqueer and @kim's work on GoToSocial; currently we're on 1200ish per month, which is amazing, but we'd like to end up around 2400 / month, or ideally more! that will give us a lot more freedom to continue to work on the project full time without having to look in consternation at our bank accounts, and worry about grant money running dry
if we get enough, we can even eventually look at welcoming another developer to the gotosocial treehouse to assist us in pulling bugs off the sloth, combing its hair etc
if you work at a company that would be interested in sponsoring us by sending donations to our OpenCollective, in exchange for a mention / logo on our docs and website, we're very open to that, assuming the company aligns with our ethics (see our code of conduct to get an idea)
to discuss that, you can send an email to admin@gotosocial.org and we'll talk!
please boost and share, thank you so much for your help!
In Godot, I want to make a 3d stars effect for my game, as the one I made at the start was just a shader applied to a flat plane and that'd look rubbish in VR (if I decide to support VR in the future I don't know yet!). My first thought was to just do it with a particle system, then I started thinking instancing meshes in GDscript with a shader on them to set color and to offset the positions over time. Not sure if that'll be faster but I expect it'd use less resources than particles?? Maybe?
@psychicparrot42 Do you have a visual example (even if in Paint) of what you want to accomplish? How do you want the starfield to be, like what kind information do you want in it?
It could be a normal shader or you could go Brrr 🚀 with computer shaders.

@davidgerard Don't forget that famous British actor: Classname Keyboardsmash
His Girl Friday (1940) (screwball comedy starring Cary Grant & Rosalind Russell)
@afewbugs "I was waiting for a hand to emerge from this reflecting pool and offer me an enchanted sword."
That's no way to govern a country.
[Looks at how the country is being governed.]
Actually... let's give it a shot.
@quixoticgeek @afewbugs I much prefer a hose too, but for me, a bigger crime than a fixed head are those plungers you need to press every 15 seconds 😠
I appreciate it's not cheap to replace plumbing infrastructure though, so that's why I focus on the easy/cheap to install features.
For the upcoming #Berlin elections, there are Germans who do care more about giving people access to party platforms on housing, building on Templehofer Feld (no joke), policing, AI and surveillance (one of the few things the Left and AfD agree on), energy costs, immigration and deportations. https://wahlprogramme-translated.de/
Spread the word to friends (including EU citizens who can vote locally!) #Berlinwahl #elections #surveillance #mietendeckel
I don't understand why people keep thinking Steve Jobs was some kind of humanitarian.
You can admire "his work" without creating fanfics about him descending from heaven to punch Trump.
I'll never understand these apple lovin' shitlibs.
1Password users, stop wasting all your energy posting on social media about them sponsoring Omarchy and *contact support*. No one cares about the number of @'s the corporate handle is getting. Support tickets roll up into actionable metrics.
You can email support@1password.com. You will probably get an AI response and need to request to be escalated to a human.
I just had a back-and-forth with customer support about the cancellation of my #1Password account because of the #Omarchy donation and... I just realized I was speaking to an AI assistant.
WE LIVE IN THE WORST TIMELINE 😫
Someone's unhappy with TfL!
I’m literally just going to block people who parrot rage bait nonsense to me. Stop reading slop. Linux developers aren’t evil and out to get you. Trust me we could be making a shitload more money if we were
@danirabbit listen, either all Linux devs are angels, or every single one is a monster. This is how it works. /s

@sebsauvage Pourquoi ne pas rajouter, à la fin de GAFAM, le I de Intel (rapport à minix.)?
@fanch_301

https://www.abc.net.au/news/science/2024-02-28/twitter-x-fighting-bot-problem-as-ai-spam-floods-the-internet/103498070#:~:text=It%20found%20three%2Dquarters%20of%20traffic%20from%20X%20was%20fake
