I was radicalized as a kid when I was playing a stupid online game called adventure quest and I went on a quest for this legendary sword called the blade of awe and the game let me go through the entire ordeal, fighting tough-ass monsters that I had to use my rare potions to defeat, and right at the point where I finally got the fucking sword the game told me I had to become a member for the low low price of 20 bucks a month in order to use it

many blind users (my ex boyfriend included) have Meta glasses and are enthusiastic, but I don't trust this company and will not buy them. First, because I know meta policies have no regards about ethics and they're just using us to make us dependant from them. And second, because the anti-meta movement is growing, blind meta glasses users are not sufficiently protected in theaters, cinemas, etc, so, I don't want something else to be stigmatized for.
Besides what fediverse folks think, however, for smart glasses Meta is not someone worthy my money, because almost 10 percent of their earnings is by scams and disinformation, they do nothing to overcome and fight it, so, it's really not worth the effort. To blind meta users I say: I fight for you by making people aware of how helpful these tools can be, not to stigmatize someone blind using these meta glasses. But if I can choose for myself, I say NO.

Because it only works because the readers can do the same thing, and construct what's going on for the writer by imagining their point of view.
When we do this with other people, it is lovely. Literally the stuff of relationships, communities, societies.
But it is also fundamental to how we interpret language and we can't just turn it off. And that is what chatbot purveyors are preying on with their product design.

For tens or even hundreds of thousands of years, fluency in communication was a decent proxy for identifying the presence of intellect. Nothing without intellect had any linguistic fluency whatsoever. Thus in the presence of fluency you must be in the presence of intellect, Q.E.D.
LLMbeciles have fluency without intellect. We have not evolved for this.

Halfway through upgrading panels after 10 years. Nothing wrong with old but check out the progress:
New ones on left are 650W/panel, old ones are 250W/panel. New are 2330x1135, old are 1600x1000, . That's 155 vs 245W/m²
Both cost roughly NZ$200 each, although I got a really really good deal back in the day on the old ones.
