Love the art nouveau-inspired lines of this tenement on Helenvale Street in the Parkhead area of Glasgow, especially those chimneys. It was designed by John Hamilton and built in the early 1900s.

It's been estimated that 30,000 locomotives produced in Springburn were transported through the city in this manner, first with teams of Clydesdale horses, then steam engines and finally diesel-powered ones.

I love this sculpture of a steam locomotive over the door of James Miller's 1903 North British Locomotive Company offices in the Springburn area of Glasgow. I particularly like the detail of the blocks and chains on either side, which were used to haul the completed locomotives through the streets of Glasgow and load them onto ships using the Finnieston Crane so they could be exported all over the world.

This year I've also been trying out more radical editing of #architecture pix. This is from the City of London.
I get Anthropic to provide an alt-text. Today it's in the style of a #haynesinstructionmanual

Love this column of recessed bow windows on the facade of the former George Hotel on Buchanan Street in Glasgow. Built in 1907, it was designed by Neil Duff.

A somewhat unexpected Elizabethan style public house in the East End of Glasgow. Built in 1905 on Glasgow Road in the Garrowhill area of the city, it was designed by MacWhannel and Rogerson for the publican Gilbert Stewart. It was originally known as Gilbert Stewart’s Vaults.

Torridon Court in the Woodside area of Glasgow. Built in 1964, it's one of many multistorey flats constructed across Glasgow in that time period.

I've just had a week in Shropshire. First time. What a bloody lovely county.
First on the menu for you, Ludlow, a beautiful and deeply historical town. This small town is home to nearly 500 listed buildings, deemed historically and/or architecturally significant.

Love this recently refurbished decorative ironwork on one of the mausoleums in the Necropolis, Glasgow's first major Victorian cemetery. There seems to be a definite influence of Islamic art to its design, especially in the latticework of the central arched panel.
