@hipsterelectron @lina I do basic python so I don't have a build step. I have a "turn source into an installable blob" step and a "upload blob to somewhere easily discoverable" step.
I guess splitting making a runnable blob from source and making an instalable blob from runnable make sense when you target many packaging format (like deb/rpm/flatpack/...) and less when not
@gkrnours imho "turn source into installable blob" is a build step and we handled it in pants but i forget nobody else does that

They all have two word names, and post short poetic nonsense. For various reasons I'm going to err on the side of nipping this in the bud.
I'd love to know who is doing this and what they want to push eventually with these accounts.

@hipsterelectron@circumstances.run and when they completely redid the http signatures draft into the rfc they kept this exactly the same so you get the same problems but on a backwards incompatible protocol you have to reimplement

I moderated a few subreddits over a decade ago, and the way some other mods acted led me to want to build self-hostable + federated alternatives.
Communities that could thrive around trusted ppl that didn't want to be a moderator, but happened to have the right traits to lead and manage.
We still have a few of those bad types in the fediverse, and they thrive on that type of control, and sometimes accuse people like me of that, despite me constantly proving the opposite.
I keep building tho 🚀
