While this would be utterly lawless, it would majorly disrupt the election. As @mattblaze and others have pointed out, some states are entirely vote-from-home. It already seems unlikely that they, and other states, have enough time to could comply with the new rules. Whether approved by the Roberts Six or not, a USPS refusal to deliver ballots would be tantamount to suspending elections in the all vote-from-home states. 3/
@heidilifeldman @mattblaze I thought there was a law (ignoring for now that the president sworn to uphold the laws was a convicted felon at the time) that there could be no changes to election procedures less than 90 days prior to an election? Perhaps I misunderstood?

@skinnylatte I do something similar, but I take a gay man with me who has fashion sense. I'm not good at speaking to strangers.
@skinnylatte in return I take a bag of power tools when I visit said gay friend, and so their DIY stuff. It's the perfect gay man lesbian woman arrangement...
I'm bored. Who's your favorite tv character and why?
@Gina Too many to pick from so I won’t even try to do my favorite.

I have questions:
- Who is paying for that?
- Assuming it's somehow federal funds, who are the toadies who allowed those illlegal disbursals to happen?
- ...and finally: OMFG, what is wrong with people (this last question is rhetorical).
and I want to be really really clear here: good software is not a label. you do not label a thing as good software. no committee or organisation decides that a thing is good software or not. break out of that mindset.
good software is the process and philosophy of making software that is good and does good.

Ok, take a deep breath everyone. I’m going to try to explain what is going on in California v. Trump/League of Women Voters v. Trump, the combined cases being heard by Judge Indira Talwani in the Massachusetts District Court, challenging Trump and USPS efforts to take over vote-from-home and disrupt the general election. 1/ #LawFedi
@Jeff None of the core developers use them. We rely on contributions from the wider community and don't explicitly list tools people can and can't use – but we do require people disclose when they use LLMs and generally discourage the practice. We carefully review submissions by contributors to make sure the code quality is good and that the patch author understands their own code. LLMs are prohibited for students and other mentored work.
@libreoffice @Jeff Have you had the experience of people submitting code they totally wrote themselves only to find that they have no idea what it does because it in reality was llm generated ai slop? if so, how common is it?
