Yes, this was my personal account, and I intended to turn it into an org account for multi-person tooting for Social coding commons, a movement.

Social coding commons is an extension of my earlier activities for Humane Tech Community which I founded. I consider fediverse to be a humane tech field lab, of sorts.

I kept the 'bot' indicator deliberately, as a means to showcase that it is just a label, an indicator that only has a cultural meaning. But any bad actor can run a bot as a non-bot, and any person can pretend to be a bot.

For the latter Social coding commons is preparing a neat activist campaign concept, which can be very useful in our AI/LLM disrupted society. I hope to be able to give shape to that, if I can continue to sustain myself in otherwise inherently unsustainable FOSS commons.

TIL: The mediainfo command (apt install mediainfo) will show you the codecs used by the audio and video in a file. Very useful if you have a .webm and it doesn't play in Jellyfin - for me most of the time it's the lack of AV1 support in iOS which means I have to convert using a command like:

ffmpeg -i input.webm -c:v libx264 -crf 20 -preset medium -c:a copy output.mp4

Although file size went from 650MB to 2.5GB!

I don't know how many DC voters follow me but I'm going to rant about this anyway because it's driving me crazy.

If you want to change DC's democratic party, vote for the "Free DC Slate". They're not officially endorsed by Free DC but they're made up entirely of Free DC members and got permission from Free DC to use the name in their slate. Everyone I know in this slate I trust and like.

If you want the same old same old, vote for "Democrats United for a Free DC". They stuck 'free dc' in their name to take advantage of the movement but did not have permission and have no connections to the org. If you're thinking "wow that doesn't speak well of their integrity" you'd be correct. They're literally the incumbents. Everyone I know in this slate I distrust and dislike.
