I need some #Linux touchers and #HomeLab gurus to explain in excruciating detail what I'm doing wrong.

I want my #JellyFin server to be served over HTTPS.

I had nginxproxymanager running, but it has stopped working with Let's Encrypt.

What's the *simplest* way to add HTTPS to #JellyFin? It's an Ubuntu box with the default Jellyfin installed (no Docker or anything complicated like that).

Informed speculation welcomed!

still, for some use cases, #Navidrome via mobile #tempo app seems better choice: it supports downloads and offline listening, offers Home page with suggestions. #jellyfin clearly wins on smart TVs. while using it via webbrowser is a tie, for some aspects former is better ( #Navidrome seems slightly lighter), for other the latter ie music is better organised out of the box in #jellyfin.

Yesterday I was singing the praises of #Jellyfin with someone in my life and they went: "Sounds great. It's a pity it cannot be connected to Google Drive or iCloud".

Fedi friends, this sentence sent actual shivers down my spine. I have no poker face and I may have even blurted out "ew why?" Then I said: "you know that the cloud is basically someone else's computer, right?"

So yes, I'm a certified Fediverse person now (in case there were any doubts).

And I just installed Jellyfin YAY 🥳

@rolle @robert Going even beyond small businesses... I wonder how much malicious bots target just individual self-hosters?

I was once told that I shouldn't worry that Jellyfin could never send out a "we were breached" email like Plex does.. because nobody would ever try to hack into my Jellyfin server since I'm not a big corpo.
