DeltaChat has a really good app frontend. If it had better group chat discovery, it would be a really serious contender.
@cjd I've never used it, but I've heard great things.
Sup is meant for Pixelfed/Mastodon/Loops users though

Key Transparency inverts the responsibility model. It ensures everyone has the same view of the relationships between Actors and Keys at every point in time.
It accomplishes this with an append only data structure.
If anyone is being disciplined or paranoid, and therefore witnessing updates, they can assure the entire protocol is being followed honestly. And most people need to take no action other than use the software normally to be secure.
If power users want to verify fingerprints on top of this, fine, I'm not here to kinkshame.

Cool, where’s the class action suit to join to get my refund for all the tariffs I had to pay since this was enacted?
@tante (1/2) As David Golumbia puts it in his book The Right-Wing Politics of Digital Technology, "More careful attention needs be paid to writers like Jarvis, Shirky, Doctorow and other promoters of 'internet freedom', 'digital liberation', 'liberation technologies,' and 'Twitter revolutions'. These voices tend to allow descriptions of technology to overwhelm and displace discussions of the politics they appear to be describing."
@brembs got it! thank you 🙏
any objections if I share it with richard sever and george o'toole?

Neues von Katherina Reiches angeblich rein privater Teilnahme am exklusiven VIP-Gipfel in Tirol: Der
@spiegel.de

Why Final Fantasy is now targeting PC as its "lead platform"
Director says PC is the "foundation" when targeting "high-end environments first."

I've come up with a brilliant new idea for a series of TV and films, called.... Planet Hike. It is not at all like star trek. There is a united coalition of planets that goes exploring and whatnot on a mission of peace, although they have a prime mandate that they're not allowed to get all up in the aliens business. It'll have a totally unique opening monologue. Something like....
Cosmos: the ultimate border. These are the journeys of the spacevessel Endeavour. Its sixty-month assignment: to investigate peculiar unfamiliar celestial bodies, to search out novel existence and hitherto unknown cultural societies, to courageously venture places negative masc-identifiers hath travelled previously!"

12 years ago today, snipers killed 48 unarmed protesters on Instytutska Street in Kyiv. Despite the killings, Yanukovych couldn't quash Euromaidan—he fled the next night, on 21 February 2014.
Russia's response was war. Within days, the Kremlin moved on Crimea. Within weeks, it sent officers and weapons into Donbas. When eight years of proxy war failed to break Ukraine, Putin launched a full-scale invasion.
The Heavenly Hundred were this war's first casualties.
