Given that the UK national debt is £2 Trillion, that's a lot. So a theoretical tax of less than 7% on this would eradicate the national debt.
It shows how unequal our society is and highlights the massive gulf between the (few) rich and the (many) poor in this country.

@kumarvibe I suspect by “non-deterministic” you actually mean “randomized”. “Non-deterministic” involves a computational model of calculating results in parallel.

But randomized algorithms and software are not new at all. Plenty of systems use randomization. None of that changes the fact that this is all just software, created and controlled by humans, running on computers with capabilities that are also created and controlled by humans.

@mattblaze Church is not a great metaphor here. The bible is an abhorrent source for morality. Just using your murder example, the bible presents all kinds of excuses for murder and even defends (commands, actually) acts of genocide.

Hands up who is beginning to think that #AndyBurnham just might be an effective good guy as PM.

I've noticed how he seems to turn enemies into friends by not reacting badly to their sniping. #DarrenJones was onside this morning. #PeterKyle criticised him yesterday and this morning Burnham was both complementary about him and said he's right.

Maybe he *is* doing politics differently. Even the Tories seem to be unsure of their footing, toning things down on tax and spend over social care reform.

And will people prefer "jam tomorrow tax cuts" over an ever more broken NHS and no social care when they are old, or will they choose fixing both #SocialCare and the #NHS - because it's easy to see that the biggest threat to the NHS is old people ending up in hospital because of broken social care.

@cstross Thanks to your post I found the culprit on my site was images I'd recently uploaded and forgotten to optimise. Used Switcheroo on them and now I'm sitting at 15.1MB. However, it's really easy for me to do because I'm not a prolific writer with a real following and my website is more a playground for my silly ideas than anything else.
