I think I've seen it mentioned in one of the comments to that news. Someone remembered at least!
A huge Slackware-current update just landed: 1927 updates, including 1876 rebuilt packages.
The entire distribution was rebuilt with GCC 16.2.0, glibc 2.44 and binutils 2.47.
And after someone asked for an ALPHA label, Patrick replied:
"Fine, it's 16.0 alpha 1."
Time to upgrade.

So Google refuses to delete my dev account because they suspended #UntrackMe, an app that redirects Big Tech content to alternative privacy front-ends. Seriously?
Their advice: fix the "compliance issues" first. So I guess my only option left is to rename it TrackMe and have it redirect privacy front-ends back to Big Tech instead. That should fix it.

The thing that selfishly pisses me off the most about these once-reliable companies turning out to be fascist collaborators and/or 'AI' boosters is that they are turning things I could pay them to not have to think about into something I need to reconsider.
Things I could just use have turned into things I need to manage, review, contain, and research alternatives to, taking time away from the things I actually enjoy.
There is so much money to be made being a brand that you can just use without needing to think about it, being utterly boring in its reliability and predictability, and yet, somehow, these fuckers keep wanting to extract more.
It's just never ENOUGH 😒
I'm still alternating between my current video binge and Horizon Zero Dawn. I have the DLC for it, and I could easily play new game+, but it's such a solidly built game, I enjoy playing it as if I were a noob.
"Enjoy" is, well, complicated. When I get close to rage-breaking the screen or the keyboard, I go do my video-binge or some Graham Norton supercuts to settle down.

I will never finish The Last of Us Part II on Grounded without dying though. 😂
I watched a video today that was a strategy for stalkers.
Now, a single stalker is unpleasant enough, but stalkers nearly always travel in 3's, and I was just getting my ass kicked over and over again.
So I watched this guy's strategy video, and I'm like, seems unlikely, but fuck it, might as well try it.
Worked like a fucking charm.
